Good morning Veronica, we’re so happy to have you here with us and we’d love to explore your story and how you think about life and legacy and so much more. So let’s start with a question we often ask: What’s the most surprising thing you’ve learned about your customers?
I’m most proud of the strong relationships we’ve built with our customers and the community that’s formed around Perfect Finish Lip Wear. While our products get all the attention, it’s the behind-the-scenes moments that truly make our brand special – the late-night conversations, the countless emails and messages we respond to, and the way we’ve created a space where everyone feels welcome and supported. Those are the things that make me proud to be co-creator of this brand.
Can you briefly introduce yourself and share what makes you or your brand unique?
Hello! I’m Veronica, co-founder of Perfect Finish Lip Wear. Our brand is all about creating hand-made, high-quality, lipstick and lip gloss shades that empower everyday individuals to feel confident and beautiful. What sets us apart is our commitment to inclusivity and versatility – our products are designed to complement any skin tone or personal style. We’re passionate about helping people find their perfect lip color and embracing their unique beauty. With a focus on quality, comfort, and self-expression, Perfect Finish Lip Wear is more than just a beauty brand – it’s a community that celebrates individuality and self-love.
Great, so let’s dive into your journey a bit more. What relationship most shaped how you see yourself?
My relationship with my husband has profoundly shaped how I see myself. He’s been my biggest supporter since the inception of Perfect Finish. His encouragement and belief in me have given me the confidence to pursue my dreams and push beyond my limits. Through his eyes, I’ve learned to see myself as a strong, capable, and creative individual. His love and support have empowered me to take risks, learn from failures, and grow both personally and professionally. I’m grateful for his presence in my life, and I strive to be the same source of strength and support for him in return.
Was there ever a time you almost gave up?
I remember when Perfect Finish was struggling to find its footing in a saturated market. Sales were low, and it felt like every other brand was shouting for attention. There were moments when I doubted my vision, wondering if I’d made a mistake entering the beauty industry. The competition seemed insurmountable, and I felt like I was just another drop in the ocean. But I took a step back, refocused on our mission to provide high-quality, products, and worked tirelessly to build genuine connections with our customers. It wasn’t easy, but slowly, our community grew, and so did our sales. That period taught me the value of perseverance, innovation, and staying true to my brand’s unique voice.
So a lot of these questions go deep, but if you are open to it, we’ve got a few more questions that we’d love to get your take on. What are the biggest lies your industry tells itself?
The beauty industry often perpetuates unrealistic standards, telling women they need to look a certain way to be beautiful or worthy. One of the biggest lies is that flawless skin is the norm, when in reality, most people have imperfections. Another lie is that there’s a single definition of beauty, when beauty is diverse and subjective. At Perfect Finish Lip Wear, we believe that beauty is about embracing your unique features and having fun with it. That’s why we created a range of lip shades that complement any skin tone, allowing everyone to find their perfect match. Our brand is built on the idea that beauty should be inclusive, not exclusive, and that everyone deserves to feel confident and beautiful in their own skin.
Okay, so before we go, let’s tackle one more area. If you retired tomorrow, what would your customers miss most?
If I retired tomorrow, I think our customers would miss the personal connection and community that comes with being part of the Perfect Finish family. They’d miss the behind-the-scenes stories, the passion, and the genuine care that goes into every product and interaction. Most of all, I hope they’d miss the sense of belonging and empowerment that our brand has helped them feel – knowing they’re part of a community that celebrates individuality and self-love. That would be the greatest legacy for Perfect Finish Lip Wear.
