Trish Ferrari Orndorff of Bel Air on Life, Lessons & Legacy

We’re looking forward to introducing you to Trish Ferrari Orndorff. Check out our conversation below.

Trish, a huge thanks to you for investing the time to share your wisdom with those who are seeking it. We think it’s so important for us to share stories with our neighbors, friends and community because knowledge multiples when we share with each other. Let’s jump in: What is something outside of work that is bringing you joy lately?
Helping others in the community. We are called to serve others and this season of life gives me the opportunity to volunteer in several areas. My passion this past year has become working with the special needs community through our “All Abilities” Gym night with FCA(Fellowship of Christian Athletes) in Harford County. A time spent with “buddies” in adaptive games and sports. This ministry is growing and I look forward how we will grow this year. The joy our athletes experience is so uplifting, we gain more than we give.

Can you briefly introduce yourself and share what makes you or your brand unique?
My name is Trish Ferrari Orndorff. In 1993, I started Ferrari Graphics, a graphics design firm that supported many large businesses within the Baltimore Metro area. After starting our family in 1995, I decided to shift focus and retire the firm. 20 years and four daughters later, I decided it was time to rekindle the business with a focus on something new. I wanted a business that would bring my passion for creativity to my community and help preserve what’s important to others. After completing my framing/design apprenticeship in 2016, Ferrari Frame & Design was born.

We are a custom frame shop providing precision framing for prints, paintings, needlepoint and canvas stretching, along with a variety of shadowboxes. We handle vintage/antique items with proper conservation. A few interesting pieces include two Fossils, a 7 foot 19th century heirloom U.S. flag, WWII wool miliary jacket, Vietnam Veteran Army service hand gun, a guitar signed by Bruce Springstein and a NFL football jersey worn by Baltimores own legend Johnny Unitas. Ingeniuty is necessary to conservation mount special elements to maintain their value and authencity.

Amazing, so let’s take a moment to go back in time. What relationship most shaped how you see yourself?
From the time I was a small child my mother always encouraged and demonstrated to be a strong and independant woman. I was the “i dont need your help” kind of child, determined to work hard and figure it out myself.

What fear has held you back the most in your life?
Peoples opinion of me.

I think our readers would appreciate hearing more about your values and what you think matters in life and career, etc. So our next question is along those lines. What’s a cultural value you protect at all costs?
Integrity. The alignment of internal beliefs to our actions in all we do.

Thank you so much for all of your openness so far. Maybe we can close with a future oriented question. If you retired tomorrow, what would your customers miss most?
The customer service and attention given at all design appointments. Every clients is given as much time as need to design their project. The benefit of small business is quality time. Being greeted by name when they return for their project, you don’t get that in the big box stores.
