Story & Lesson Highlights with Shawn Black of West Baltimore

Shawn Black shared their story and experiences with us recently and you can find our conversation below.

Good morning Shawn , it’s such a great way to kick off the day – I think our readers will love hearing your stories, experiences and about how you think about life and work. Let’s jump right in? What do you think is misunderstood about your business?
People assume they will be judged. We have all gone through rough times, I pride myself on keeping an open line of communication that is transparent and judgment free.

Can you briefly introduce yourself and share what makes you or your brand unique?
Hello Again!

I’m Shawn & I’m the chief executive officer of SBS Realty Services. We are a small real estate start up that specializes in finding fair price rental homes throughout the DMV.

Amazing, so let’s take a moment to go back in time. Who saw you clearly before you could see yourself?
God did. He saw the best and the worst In me. He saw me up and held me down. He made a way out of no way, I owe it all to my higher power.

What did suffering teach you that success never could?
Savings does just that….. it saves you. Every dollar can be contributed to something positive. And you’re one wrong investment away from losing it all. Please remember to save save save.

Sure, so let’s go deeper into your values and how you think. What would your closest friends say really matters to you?
My family will always be at the top of the list. I want the best for them and they want the best for me. We are all we got.

Okay, so before we go, let’s tackle one more area. What will you regret not doing?
Opening a satellite office or location. I want to experience having to fully rely on myself and nobody else. Having my own physical address is a major goal for my small business.
