Story & Lesson Highlights with Olajumoke Ajayi of Bowie

We’re looking forward to introducing you to Olajumoke Ajayi. Check out our conversation below.

Olajumoke, we’re thrilled to have you with us today. Before we jump into your intro and the heart of the interview, let’s start with a bit of an ice breaker: Would YOU hire you? Why or why not?
Yes, I would absolutely hire me. I’m someone who keeps my commitments and follows through. I don’t procrastinate, and I don’t take on work I can’t give my best to. When I commit, I give 100%.
Those who know me would describe me as reliable, consistent, and committed to quality. I believe in doing things with excellence, integrity, and passion rather than just for show. I’m not perfect, but I know that when I dedicate myself fully, I achieve results.
My values keep me grounded and focused, and that’s why I’d choose me every time.

Can you briefly introduce yourself and share what makes you or your brand unique?
My name is Olajumoke Ajayi, and I am the founder of WellSpring Health Outreach, a nonprofit dedicated to bringing preventive health screenings, education, and resources directly to the community.
Our mission is to make healthcare more accessible to underserved communities by meeting people where they are, breaking down barriers to care, and building trust within the community.

At WellSpring Health Outreach, we provide vascular health screenings to assess stroke risk, evaluate for abdominal aortic aneurysm, and check for blockages in the lower limbs. We also offer echocardiogram screenings to evaluate heart function, along with wellness checks and education that empower individuals and families to take charge of their health.

What sets us apart is that we do more than provide services. We build lasting connections and deliver practical solutions that help people live healthier, stronger lives.

Thanks for sharing that. Would love to go back in time and hear about how your past might have impacted who you are today. What part of you has served its purpose and must now be released?
My past has taught me the importance of caring deeply and committing fully to the people I serve.
I’ve learned that while I can support others wholeheartedly, I don’t need to carry their struggles for them.
This realization has allowed me, in my work with WellSpring Health Outreach, to give my best, guiding, educating, and empowering the communities we serve, while maintaining my own balance and focus. Setting these healthy boundaries helps me show up stronger and make a greater, lasting impact.

Is there something you miss that no one else knows about?
I really miss both of my parents, but especially my mom. She passed away almost two decades ago, and what I miss most is seeing her witness the person I’m becoming. She always saw my potential before I even realized it myself and spoke over my life the kind of impact I would have on the world.
Thinking back on her words, I can see them coming to life now. I wish she and my dad were here to see it all, to see how I’ve grown, the work I’ve done, and the impact I’m starting to have.
I know they would be so proud. It’s not that I’ve fully arrived yet, but I carry their vision, encouragement, and love with me every day, and I feel their presence guiding me forward.

Alright, so if you are open to it, let’s explore some philosophical questions that touch on your values and worldview. What’s a cultural value you protect at all costs?
The value I protect most is integrity, being honest, transparent, and dependable in everything I do. At WellSpring Health Outreach, this means that every service we provide, every screening we perform, and every interaction with the community is done with care, honesty, and respect. I won’t compromise on doing what’s right, even if it’s harder, slower, or less convenient.
Protecting this value builds trust with the people we serve and ensures that our work truly makes a difference.
For me, integrity isn’t just a principle, it is the foundation of everything I do, personally and professionally.

Okay, so before we go, let’s tackle one more area. What is the story you hope people tell about you when you’re gone?
I hope people remember me as someone who truly cared and made a difference. I want them to say that I lived with integrity, gave generously of my time and heart, and inspired others to care for themselves and their communities. I hope they remember that I helped people see their potential, guided them when they needed support, and created opportunities for others to thrive. Most of all, I hope they remember that I lived with purpose, led with compassion, and made a positive impact that continues even after I’m gone.
