Monnie, we’re thrilled to have you with us today. Before we jump into your intro and the heart of the interview, let’s start with a bit of an ice breaker: What battle are you avoiding?
The losing battle. I rarely avoid taking risk but if i had to choose between two, I’d probably take the one I won’t result losing so much in, even though the other choice risk reward would’ve been bigger. I feel I can’t lose because I have so many loved ones behind me that’s not even an option. I also feel if I do slip up and lose everything I’ll eventually earn more though!
Can you briefly introduce yourself and share what makes you or your brand unique?
Hi to all readers! First I want to thank Voyage for allowing me to feature for the 3rd year. Very thankful for the recognition!
I’m excited to return, I’ve grown so much since my last interview with so much to share.
In May I dropped HWC’s first pair of swim trunks. The swim trunks are named “Theodore” swim trunks due to the passing of my loved one. The shorts were inspired by the lesson of his death ‘Change can be beautiful’. The shorts are a 2in1 which can be worn for streetwear or swim wear. The shorts appear all grey with HWC’s logo heat stamped on the left bottom side of the shorts in black, when wet the shorts appear to change from blank grey to HWC’s logo going in a pattern all over.
These shorts are very special to me, they took me over a year or 2 to design and produce.
However summer just begun but time flies, the next season will be approaching soon so I am working on HWC’s winter collection. Our winter collection will include Sweatsuits, Coats, Beanies, Gloves, Socks, Joggers, Thermals & Sweatshirts. I’m in the making of trying to expand HWC’s catalog. HWC is also aiming to be featured on the news soon. I have so much in store for my brand. I’m proud of myself for staying consistent even through trials & tribulations. If it was easy everyone would be doing it that’s how u know I’m doing the unthinkable.
Amazing, so let’s take a moment to go back in time. What’s a moment that really shaped how you see the world?
A moment for me that shaped how I seen the world has to be losing those around you to death or incarceration. Those moments showed me that we’re on borrowed time bonding with borrowed people and forever isn’t really forever. It also showed me to live in the moment! Take every moment in and cherish EVERYTHING. Moments turn into memories…
Was there ever a time you almost gave up?
Everyday! Everyday I “almost” give up but when it’s not even an option, you can’t. Domino Effect meaning if I do give up everybody and everything I built behind me will fall.

I do that everyday already! I do my best for myself, my Brand & for others without expecting praise. That’s just I Am.
