We recently had the chance to connect with Marcus Bruce Sr and have shared our conversation below.
Marcus, we’re thrilled to have you with us today. Before we jump into your intro and the heart of the interview, let’s start with a bit of an ice breaker: When have you felt most loved—and did you believe you deserved it?
I felt most loved amongst my content creator peers when asked to be a special guest at multiple conventions. Just being recognized in a space with so many successful creators is truly an honor and a privilege. Although i am often in a place of disbelief, I do feel like I deserve it.
Can you briefly introduce yourself and share what makes you or your brand unique?
My name is Marcus most known by VideoGameVotary (VGV). I am a gaming content creator on youtube. My channel is currently undergoing a rebranding and relaunch. The channel name will be Destination Switch. I have recently just started collecting exclusively for the Nintendo Switch and the Nintendo Switch 2. Currently preparing for upcoming appearances, and the relaunch video. I am a fan of Nintendo, but want to focus my attention on the current generation of Nintendo.
Amazing, so let’s take a moment to go back in time. What relationship most shaped how you see yourself?
The relationship that has most shaped how I feel about myself is my relationship with God. I can do all things through Christ Jesus who strengthens me. I truly believe this scripture and thank him daily for the things he has blessed me with.
Was there ever a time you almost gave up?
There was definitely a time where I almost gave up. I recently went through a divorce. I became an introvert. I went completely dark on social media. I was not creating content. Very very rough time for me.
Sure, so let’s go deeper into your values and how you think. Is the public version of you the real you?
This is a very good question. I would say yes and no. Obviously, as a content creator, there are elements that are created so justifiably things can be manipulated or exaggerated. In the same token, the content I create is a reflection of me, as well as my thoughts and opinions.
Before we go, we’d love to hear your thoughts on some longer-run, legacy type questions. Are you doing what you were born to do—or what you were told to do?
Great question. As of right now, I would say yes. I feel that I am a natural born leader and entertainer. By creating content, in this space I am able to showcase both of these attributes.
