Story & Lesson Highlights with James Joseph of Baltimore

James Joseph shared their story and experiences with us recently and you can find our conversation below.

James , we’re thrilled to have you with us today. Before we jump into your intro and the heart of the interview, let’s start with a bit of an ice breaker: What is something outside of work that is bringing you joy lately?
Lately I have found so much joy in listening to soca music and traveling

Can you briefly introduce yourself and share what makes you or your brand unique?
I am James “Jaydot” Joseph. I am an international/celebrity tattoo artist based out of Baltimore. I am the former owner of Dreamteam Tattoos in Baltimore city. After facing some life changing health issues I decided to close my shop and work in a more private setting for my clients.
In the past two years I also became part Owner of Bacchanal Business, which is a Caribbean based media and promotion team.

Great, so let’s dive into your journey a bit more. Who were you before the world told you who you had to be?
I was simply just James. Former US Marine trying to find my way in life.

Was there ever a time you almost gave up?
Being a business owner there are days you want to give up all the time. Being responsible for the livelihood of other people can be a heavy responsibility. Finances arnt always where they need to be and slow seasons can drain you physically and mentally.

I think our readers would appreciate hearing more about your values and what you think matters in life and career, etc. So our next question is along those lines. What would your closest friends say really matters to you?
God, my child, and my culture. I am a very proud Trinidadian but even more then that I love being a dad. Especially a football dad

Okay, so before we go, let’s tackle one more area. If you laid down your name, role, and possessions—what would remain?
My legacy. My art and my impact on people will live on even way after I’m gone
