We’re looking forward to introducing you to Da-Sean Downing. Check out our conversation below.
Da-Sean, really appreciate you sharing your stories and insights with us. The world would have so much more understanding and empathy if we all were a bit more open about our stories and how they have helped shaped our journey and worldview. Let’s jump in with a fun one: What makes you lose track of time—and find yourself again?
Music. I get lost in it and sing to the top of my lungs and create a fun environment everyone wants to be in
Can you briefly introduce yourself and share what makes you or your brand unique?
F.I.N.A.O. is an emerging R&B/Pop/Latino artist whose sound bridges smooth vocal emotion with modern rhythm and lyrical depth. His music captures the duality of strength and vulnerability — blending soulful melodies with an urban edge that reflects his real-life experiences and raw authenticity. Which leads me into new songs that I am brewing with relatives and one song truly of my own doing.
Okay, so here’s a deep one: Who were you before the world told you who you had to be?
I was a high school football and track star who went to college and played football at a high level division 3 school. I went to Towson High School where I made the track and field hall of fame board with a few other classmates
Was there ever a time you almost gave up?
I did almost give up in high school because I tore ligaments in my knee, which forced a traumatic and extensive change in my life which affects me even still today with occasional buckling and more. I tore my ACL, PCL, & meniscus
I think our readers would appreciate hearing more about your values and what you think matters in life and career, etc. So our next question is along those lines. Is the public version of you the real you?
The public version of me is not the real me as I can be laid back and goofy when a person gets to know me but a little more conservative in public so a little more serious
Okay, we’ve made it essentially to the end. One last question before you go. Could you give everything your best, even if no one ever praised you for it?
I think yes I would still be able to do my best because although I do like compliments I do not need validation from anyone to make me feel comfortable or good in a sense
