Today we’d like to introduce you to Teranee Fransha’.

Teranee Fransha’

Hi Teranee, can you start by introducing yourself? We’d love to learn more about how you got to where you are today.
I am an Actress, Director, Model, Motivational Speaker, Acting Coach, and Author from Louisville, KY who can utilize my acting skills and talents to give a refined, pleasing performance and create a unique identity for my role.

I was introduced to the Entertainment Industry in my teenage years, with MJK Talents and Expo Modeling Agency. At the tender age of 6, I auditioned for and was selected to be a part of the prestigious Louisville Hip Hop dance team, “Division One Dancers” created by Tammy Harris.

I creatively expressed myself through dance by taking the audience on a journey. By the time I reached the age of 17, I was hired as a Runway instructor with Expo Modeling Agency teaching “The Art of Runway” and Posing Techniques. I attended the University Of Louisville with a focus on Forensic Psychology and a minor in Performance Arts. It was there that I caught the acting bug and shifted my focus back to my true love and passion, which is the arts.
I relocated to the DMV with my family to utilize my connections and get back in alignment with my path of purpose. It was here that I would experience the contrast, trials, and challenges of life’s lessons, overcome depression, and excel as an Actress.

I have worked with Networks/Streaming such as BET, TV ONE, Amazon Prime, Netflix, Apple TV, ALLBLK, and Tubi, and am excellent in the area of Film/TV and Theater. I have extensive knowledge about different trends and historical developments in the field of acting in it was natural for me to step into my coaching role and have extended my talents behind the camera with Directing short films.

I enjoy performing immensely and have found the task of live shows thrilling. I’ve had the opportunity to perform at the Historical Lincoln Theater, Bethesda Jazz and Blues, and The Knights Theater(Charlotte,NC) as the Leading Lady (Angela)of a sold-out stage play “A Woman’s Love” written/Directed by Dana Hicks-Hungerford produced by Hungerford Distribution, which will tour Summer 2024.

I’ve also added “Best Selling Author” to my biography, as I’ve had the amazing opportunity to co-write an Anthology titled “Seeing Myself in HERstory” with a phenomenal group of women lead by the visionary author Tamika Paige (The Paige Group), that made it to the top of Amazon’s list of Inspirational Books.(2023).

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall, and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
It has not been a smooth road. From financial restrictions when I first started pursuing my passion about 10 years ago to losing my grandmother who was/is a significant factor in my support system.

Almost 10 years ago, I fell into depression and moved with my family to the DMV to focus on my career unfortunately was met with emptiness and doubt. Not to mention I was home sick!!!!  I have to credit the feminine energies, specifically my mom, grandmother, and aunt who fed me mentally and kept effortlessly encouraging me through contrast.

My mom is the epitome of “affirming”. It was the confidence, endless talks of knowing who I AM since I was a child, and her unconditional love that was pivotal in my overcoming. Another challenge I faced and still healing from today, was losing my grandmother last year(2022) in the middle of a production.

It was my first leading role in a stage play that I was preparing for and an extremely difficult time for me, as I had to return to KY to assist in the celebration of her life. It was her voice, her spirit, and her strength that allowed me to get back to the DMV and (in her words) “Get my ass up on that stage and give that damn audience a show!!”

Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
I’m most proud of the material I write, film, direct, produce, and edit myself. I love a good Rom-Com and Dramedy cause I’m naturally funny, however I loooove me a good Drama/Thriller!!!

I don’t believe in limitations and feel that there’s nothing I can’t do. I love learning new creative avenues that still cater to my career and applying what resonates with me. I am most known for my work ethic, professionalism, acting abilities/talent, and coaching from a realistic in-depth standpoint.

I believe my imagination and vision is what sets me apart as a Director. My ability to resonate with characters from all walks of life is an advantage that I have to speak from different perspectives as a Writer. The sacrifice I make to tell the “character’s” story and to transform myself with the use of my vessel to create pleasing, believable performances. Then add my personality, beauty, and most importantly my strong memorization capabilities and professionalism, are what TRULY sets me apart. Source added a lil extra razzle dazzle when I was being created!!! Lol

The most important resource I utilize is my therapist to assist in the digression of characters, during and once I wrap any production. I like to remain professional and in character the entire time. To truly embody the experience that some of the characters (people) go through, sometimes it takes a toll on me mentally and physically. My well-being is a priority to me and “I” mean more to me, than any character will!

If you had to, what characteristic of yours would you give the most credit to?
Remaining authentically true to myself is what I feel is most important to my success. In a world full of characters, I feel it’s so important to be myself. I AM a class act, a master manifester, and a generator/creator of probabilities.

I have this strong intuition that has guided me this far, and I’ve become so in tune with myself that I do a disservice to myself when I don’t trust my inner voice and follow my heart.

Oftentimes, I’ve gotten roles by simply “trusting my gut” meaning trusting the choice I make for the character and acting intuitively. I believe as long as I hold to those values, the people designed to assist me on my journey will come into alignment in divine timing.
