Today we’d like to introduce you to Stephanie Carter.
Hi Stephanie, so excited to have you on the platform. So before we get into questions about your work-life, maybe you can bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today.
URBANIQUE (URBAN-EE-QUE)
I am a colorful, Innovative Urban Expression throbbing for the peace of love through fashion and creativity. My vision of Urbanique was created with the drive of an urban boutique, with a hairstylist twist and flavor of colorful fashion. This, to many, can be “doing too much,” but for me, it’s just the perfect formula to expressional success capped with overflowing blessings. As a child, I used to take any and everything I could get access to and upcycle it into my style until I was satisfied. Having gone through several triumphs, and having nothing but my craft and faith to stand on at times, gave me some weird strength to push the birth of my dream fashion beauty statement to fruition. I always keep my dream alive when I can help others reveal their inner uniqueness through the Urbanique trends and touch on their style, whether it be hair or fashion.
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall, and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
No, Child Lost, Endometriosis stage4, Fibroid, Ovarian Cysts, Adenomyosis, Hysterectomy warrior. Cosmetology school (part-time) as a single mom with a full-time job. Corporate job loss due to medical reasons.
Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?
I am a logistically driven licensed Cosmetologist. I am also a Creative Director & Brand Manager of many things. I specialize in creativity, whether it’s hair, fashion, events, business, or just life. Whatever I touch, you will know that I was there. I am very proud of the amazing strength that has been built inside & out of my mind~ body~ and soul. I have had several traumas, tragedy & triumphs. To overcome and fight the way I have has been shocking to others and myself. I always believed that I’m set apart from others by my mindset, drive, fashion sense, and applicability to life in general.
What would you say has been one of your most important lessons?
Never move on a verbal promise!
