Rising Stars: Meet SIX Marie

Today we’d like to introduce you to SIX Marie.

Hi SIX, please kick things off for us with an introduction to yourself and your story.
My story started when I was a little girl in elementary school, I used to love to sing and dance and participate in any event that allowed me to be on stage pretty much. I grew up in West Baltimore in the Sandtown area and one of the ways how I tried to stay out of the troubles of home and just the area in general I put my energy into song and dance.

In reality, I never received too much support from my family more so my friends so over the years I was in and out of writing r&b songs for myself

It’s only since the end of 2019 I started to take my talents towards rap/hip-hop music and have officially use my stage name SIX Marie.

I have three tapes out now including three singles going in order of

And now I am working on more projects and cannot wait to see where this journey takes me

I’m sure you wouldn’t say it’s been obstacle-free, but so far would you say the journey has been a fairly smooth road?
One of my biggest struggles are I do have a medical condition called Crohn’s disease and anemia My Crohn’s disease is a condition that affects my whole body so at a point in time for a couple of years than in the beginning of 2019 I nearly had a heart attack do to the fact not enough blood was reaching my heart it was a heart-breaking moment in my life but now I am on my medication and have made a full recovery

Thanks – so what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
I am an artist I rap, sing, and also write of my music also what I feel as though what sets me apart is for one, I write most of all my lyrics and my demeanor is different from most female artists

Do you have recommendations for books, apps, blogs, etc?
My favorite apps are YouTube, Instagram, Facebook, Snapchat, distrokid, Spotify, and I also love to play video especially the ones with a great story to it

Any book I would listen to are from Stephen King and R.L Stine
