Saye, we appreciate you taking the time to share your story with us today. Where does your story begin?
Hello,
My name is Saye M. Gbalazeh and I’m the owner of On Target BattleZone.
I had the Nerf idea in 2016 and I put it on paper after doing nerf battles in the house and yard. 2017 I did a Team building event at one of Baltimore City schools and the kids loved it. The posted it on the social media page and people started asking if I did parties.
I did my research to see if there was anything like this in the area and came up with nothing. So I filed my paperwork and created On Target BattleZone, LLC Mobile Battlefield.
1 year October 20th, 2018 I bought my building and started the renovation. Had a soft grand opening on June 1st, 2019, and been busy since by word of mouth.
We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
It hasn’t been easy. But with hard work and dedication, I overcame all obstacles. I created something that no one has seen before so I had to draw interest. I had to do a few free parties to build up my profile
Thanks – so what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
I’m a law informant and I’m still working full-time. This idea started off as fun and turned into Business. Going in full-time is something I’ve been thinking about. But it’s hard
What was your favorite childhood memory?
I am originally from Liberia, West Africa. Being a kid playing with no worries or fear. My goal at On Target BattleZone is to make you for about your worries and bring out your Inner Child
