Rising Stars: Meet Robert Stewart

Today we’d like to introduce you to Robert Stewart.

Hi Robert, can you start by introducing yourself? We’d love to learn more about how you got to where you are today.
I started cooking at the age of twelve. It all came down to my mother being a horrible cook. My younger brother & I would complain about her food all the time. So eventually she told us to cook instead. She worked nights as a janitor at a local elementary school so when we got home from school, she was on her way to work. My brother was my crash test dummy and my official taste tester. At that moment is when I started taking cooking seriously. It wasn’t a hobby for me, it was survival. My grandmother was such an amazing example of how a good meal made with love makes everyone happy. Seeing the effects of this helped me realize this was now a career opportunity and I enrolled into a Culinary Arts and Restaurants Management Program.

I’m sure you wouldn’t say it’s been obstacle free, but so far would you say the journey has been a fairly smooth road?
“Anything that comes easy usually the value doesn’t last long”

It’s been a rough & rugged road to get up the mountain top one of the best ways to describe it would probably imagine a road trip to a place you never been at before at the start of your trip your super excited about the clothes to pack, the people you want to go with you, the reason why you’re going, what will you do when you get there, you don’t have any ideas of what’s to come but you start the journey.

As you go you start to realize it’s taking longer than expected; traffic, roadblocks, accidents are preventing you from getting there on your projected timeline.

The car breaks down, flat tires, engine trouble, you run out of gas

Sooner than later, you wish you picked different people to go, some decide they are not as excited anymore and decide to go back

The clothes you brought wasn’t the right stuff to bring

You begin to feel defeated by the chaos

You’re halfway there so you continue on now you start to see things you never saw before and feel things you never felt before and the chaos you felt slowly dissipated and is replaced with gratitude.

You kept driving and by the time you arrive your there by yourself you wish everyone would have fought with you and stayed with you, but the trip was your idea all you can do is tell them what happened they will never understand it for themselves

But the feeling of accomplishment gives you confidence and you will never forget that road trip and all the people you passed by on the way and when the time comes when someone else wants to go you will be able to help them get there safely.

Although this is a parable it is identical to the real-life struggle one will face in life maintaining a relationship with your partner, maintaining a friendship with your childhood friends, maintaining a bond with your children staying super focused in the goal but ensuring that you have balance between being a good person and doing what is best for your future

That was the struggle I faced because I got in the car alone and told myself I be right back and although I overcame everything that happened in the way I had to go alone because no one understood what I was doing or feeling but getting there allowed me to finally go back and get the people who meant the most to me

Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?
If it’s something you do that you love it’s never work, people assume my life is so overwhelming because of the constant demands that are being made but it’s actually the fun part of it

My life/work is the people-pleasing business aka Hospitality Industry I cater to people while catering events. I’m also a TV personality and don’t tell anyone about me being a amateur comedian

I specialize in having a great time.

I’m known for my smile and magnetic personality and energy people have always said that I love being around you and it just so happens that I’m passionate about cooking so usually when I enter a room it’s to bring some life to the party or make sure the people there enjoyed the food offered at the event.

I’m most proud about not giving up or in. Delayed doesn’t mean denied but it’s hard not to get discouraged, disappointed, distracted, disgusted with people and the unfairness that life brings to you especially when you know your heart and intentions are pure maintaining integrity, loyalty, determination, compassion, empathy all while it’s never equally yoked.

The same way you set out in the road trip with big dreams you’re going to love yourself when you get there and realize I’m tuff as steal and grateful that you didn’t get caught up in the noise of life

I’m extremely proud that I wanted it badly but not bad enough that I have regrets about how I did things or people to get here.

Lastly, I’m proud that in all my successes I’ve never allowed it to change my mindset, character or personality and that I’ve been able to maintain all the meaningful relationships in my life.

Only thing that may set me apart from others is my belief system and my willingness to sacrifice myself for the movement and never the moment.

Is there any advice you’d like to share with our readers who might just be starting out?
I can’t tell you how to get to the top because I didn’t know I was going there but I can tell you how you won’t get their good luck if you’re not a easy person to talk to or work with successful people are likeable at first they could seem boring & stubborn to some extent because they are all about the money however they have more fun then you will because they don’t have the same problems you have they surrounded themselves with like-minded people so when they talk it doesn’t sound like they boasting or bragging.

One must be teachable & changeable.

It’s easy to learn something new it’s hard to accept the reality of changing from what you are comfortable with or afraid of

Anything I wish I knew before starting out would be that it takes longer than expected but I live daily with a affirmation

“Things happen as they should” so I don’t want to change anything because everything happens as it should the lessons learned where in perfect order the people who betrayed me were right on time the doors that opened & closed were precisely necessary the moments of triumph and glory along with the tears of anger, failure all brought me to the perfect moment in my journey.
