Rising Stars: Meet Jennifer Dunn

Today we’d like to introduce you to Jennifer Dunn. Them and their team share their story with us below:

Jennifer Dunn, co-owner of Bunifu left her job of 11 years at the College Board an international education non-for-profit organization to start her own business, it wasn’t because she wanted prestige or to make more money. She wanted to walk more in her purpose. She has been a long-time educator in a school as well as worked in organizations at the national level and has seen gender and racial/ethnic disparities that have polluted the workplace and our K-16 education system. Her passions and gifts have been to provide what she likes to say the underdog with training and development opportunities to create a sense of agency and empowerment. As a young professional, learning was paramount for upward mobility and a way of living, that’s why it is the foundation for her E-learning business, Bunifu – Learning for Life.

Her vision is to provide E-Learning that is transformative and that provides learners with deep, constructive, meaningful, and creative learning experiences.

OUR CLIENTS:

Our work with privately owned businesses has been extensive in that we have created toolkits, manuals, guides, and online digital learning to support human resources compliance training, diversity and inclusion, and leadership. We support large and small businesses and provide eLearning solutions that work for all sizes.

We have currently been successful in creating 60 forty-five-minute courses for high school students in the area of social-emotional, career, and college readiness to over 50K students across the country to respond to the massive school closures due to the 2020 pandemic. We’ve also partnered to support Farm to Table state-wide strategic planning initiatives, to name a few projects.

Some of our non-profit work has been focused on the development of self-paced courses with a large international organization called College Board, providing strategic planning, standard operating procedures for online courses, and webinars for SAT, PSAT/MNSQT, and Advanced Placement programs.

In addition, we have worked with the Women of the World Foundation in partnership with Sandmartin Production, an overseas-based company to launch and implement a 24-hour virtual conference over 10 regions of the world.

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
As a black-owned business, it has been rewarding but challenging as we start to scale up our offerings and our client base. Essentially, we started as a two-man and woman show, my husband and I jointly own the business. My husband does payroll, contracts, and collection of hours. I handle the human resources and highering and managing the day-to-day work.

We are still having our growing pains, but we see that there is a need for our services and we feel blessed and actually enjoy the overwhelming response and satisfaction that our clients have with our services. Our vision is to ensure that we provide consultation, development, and management of eLearning modules and toolkits that engage diverse audiences.

We offer a quality product that aims at providing transformative learning services that integrate the learning style, cultural background, and actions of the learner.

CLIENT’S TESTIMONIAL

“I cannot say enough good things about Bunifu! Jennifer Dunn and her team exceeded my expectations as they created facilitator and participant materials for my cherished Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion workshops. I put my heart and soul into the design of the classes after the devastating death of George Floyd in the summer of 2020. The workshops were created to serve as my contribution to change in America. I could not, however, share the work with others without a trusted partner to help me translate my ideas into instructional materials that others could believe in too. Jennifer and her team brought my vision to life. The materials will hopefully bring many, many leaders an understanding of the impacts of unconscious bias and racism. Bunifu can be trusted to help you bring your instructional design vision to life.”

Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?
