Today we’d like to introduce you to Fat Racks.
Hi Fat, please kick things off for us with an introduction to yourself and your story.
I’m Fat Racks from Baltimore born and raised. I’ve been head first into music since a kid. I have a lot of passion for music, I’ve been in choir’s as a child growing up from school to the church coming up. Since a kid the first thing I do when I wake up is turn on music to get me going and get motivated. The passion I had for music turned into me trying to make my own, it was just a hobby at first and a chill spot for my homeboys so we could get off of the block. Once my older brother died it motivated me to take it more seriously because he always told me I should. The support and encouragement I received from dropping music up until now is what keeps me motivated to stay in the studio. Even if I never got famous from my music I know recording music is something I’ll never stop doing it’s literally therapeutic for me. It’s also an art that’s not meant for everyone, from freestyling in the car with my friends to laying it down on wax in the studio I realized I do have a God given gift and I’d be a fool not to at least attempt to not only share my gift but also to let it go to waste. I feel like it would be doing me an injustice not making music at all even if it’s just for myself and the people around me. I enjoy the whole process of making a song especially because I don’t write. Coming out of the booth listening to the final production of what I made is always a good feeling. It’s also an adrenaline rush for me to see people reaction to what I’ve created. I see people make a living from talking about a life I’ve lived day for day so I feel like why can’t I do the same thing ya know? No matter if I “make it” or not I’d never stop recording music it’s just something I genuinely enjoy.
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
Not at all lol everything I do I do myself. I don’t have anyone backing me financially or anything of the sort. Shit if I did I know I’d be on already if I had a financial backing to contribute to studio time/outfits/videos and pay for features like some artist from my city does. I use it as motivation personally though cause I know when my career does take off it’s going to feel better to know I’ve done majority of things myself and I won’t owe anyone anything but the select few I have around me that push me and has been supporting me throughout this journey.

I’m known in my city as a cool laid back fly guy who gets the bag. I don’t have bad rep or anything of the sort in my city. Resume solid background solid always show love and respect everywhere I go and I’ve been blessed to not have a stain on my resume by simply respecting the “game” playing it how it’s supposed to be played which is foreign these days. I’m proud of being a stand up man to and in my community also being a father. My daughter just turned 1 and she’s my best achievement ever. Long as I don’t let her down I know I’m doing what I’m
Supposed to. My work ethic and consistency/confidence is what I feel separates me from most.
Can you talk to us about how you think about risk?
I live by Take Risk And Prosper! I’ve always been a risk taker my whole life. I was taught the bigger the risk the bigger the reward BUT you gotta know you’re gambling it’s a 50/50 outcome you never know if you goin cash in or crap out. No matter what happens you keep going until you break the bank. Where I’m from playing it safe don’t really get you anywhere and for some ppl that’s cool but not me. I’ve always seen and wanted more out of life for myself than the average person. I know I belong at the top ima real life champion!
