Rising Stars: Meet Djay Amazin of Atlanta

Today we’d like to introduce you to Djay Amazin.

Djay Amazin

Hi Djay Amazin, please kick things off for us with an introduction to yourself and your story.
My journey as DJay Amazin began in Baltimore, where I first stepped into the music scene through an internship at Urban One’s 92Q Jams. This experience was transformative, allowing me to learn directly from legendary on-air DJs like DJ Blaqstarr, DJ Jay Claxton, and the late Vicious V. Each Friday night, I had the privilege of being part of broadcasts that set the tone for the city’s weekend, turning my dreams into a reality.

As one of the youngest DJs to make an impact in the area, I quickly earned respect from local artists, influencers, and partygoers. My ability to command a crowd and my grounded approach opened doors to club gigs, concerts, and mixtape hosting opportunities. These experiences cemented my reputation as a creative force in Baltimore’s music community.

Today, my journey continues with even greater energy and purpose. Whether I’m hosting mixtapes for indie artists or breaking the newest sounds, my goal is always to connect with fans and leave a lasting impact on the culture.

We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
It has not been a smooth road because you know people got there picks if you not doing what they want you to do then it’s an issues. But I done turned my name into a notable brand well, respected and always did a good business with people tell this day I’m still having struggles with getting into the game because I have a criminal background but me personally I really don’t think that will stop anybody’s progress because you have a criminal background which is a small hiccup

As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about what you do?
I’m Dj been one since the age of 14 years old right now I’m currently the house dj for Bar Vegan Atl. The one. Thing I’m most proud of is I came home from prison after 7 years and got right back into the game like it wasn’t nothing what sets me apart from other people I actually know how to dj and I’m leave it right there 😭

If you had to, what characteristic of yours would you give the most credit to?
The quality I believe is most important to my success is adaptability. As a DJ, being able to read the room, adjust to different crowds, and seamlessly blend genres has been key to creating unforgettable experiences. Whether it’s a high-energy club, a private event, or a mixtape project, staying versatile and open to change has allowed me to connect with audiences and keep my sets fresh and impactful.
