Today we’d like to introduce you to Chrisette Klima.
Hi Chrisette, so excited to have you with us today. What can you tell us about your story?
I was Born in Joliet, IL. I’m a multi talented artist who blends the styles of Classical and R&B together. I am a vocalist, songwriter, instrumentalist and composer. I started my musical journey at the age of 8 years old. Between taking classical voice lessons and classical violin lessons, My music idols include Toni Braxton, Beyonce, Mariah, Whitney Houston and Brandy. Throughout the years, my life has always been centered around the love for the mic, light and the stage. In addition, I’m also graduating with my associates degree in Human services. After that, I will be obtaining my undergrad in Music Therapy. I also teach sexuality education to adults with disabilities to help them navigate their feelings in a safe and appropriate way. Over the past 13 years, I’ve been able to combine music and mental health, and I want to be able to continue to do that. And honestly, I have to thank my mom as well. I’ve watched her fight to get where she is today, and I couldn’t be any prouder. In addition to all of those wonderful attributes, I love going to the gym. Going to the gym gives me mental clarity, and it allows me to calm my own anxiety, and look good while doing it! ;). I’m also a music artist! My artist name is Sette Amoure. I currently have 3 albums that are out right now, and one of them I just released in December of 2025. That album is called “Eternal Bloom”. The other 3 albums are titled “Array of Emotions” and “Hymns of the Season”. Out of all of those 3, Eternal Bloom is may favorite. It’s my favorite because of how happy it sounds. It’s a pop album with great vocals and story telling. I write all of my lyrics, that’s one of my biggest flexes.
We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
I’ve had some challenges in my life that included bad relationships, relationship trauma and failed school attempts. However I’ve been able to bounce back from. those challenges and persevere. As a black woman in this country, you have to keep strong and continue to do good work not only for yourself, but others as well.
Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your work?
I’m a life skills coach, and my target audience is adults with disabilities. I’ve worked with kids as well as a behavior support specialist. I help adults learn how to manage money, integrate in the community, have the tools to use appropriate social skills and learn how to manage their behavior. I’ve been with my company Trinity Services Inc for 13 years now, and it’s one of my proudest moments. What sets me apart from others is my ability to truly empathize and understand a persons needs and have them met. In addition to that, I also love to empower others to be their true authentic selves. I also love to incorporate music and dance into a daily routine. Another proud moment of mine is the confidence I carry as a black woman who’s a strong ally and advocate in the LGBTQIA community. I don’t talk about it often, but I do stand in my power, and I want to empower other woman, men and our non binary folks as well. I also want to continue my work educating people on how sexuality is a very large spectrum and how it’s sits in more than one space.
Where do you see things going in the next 5-10 years?
Trinity Services Inc will continue to evolve and be one the biggest organizations in the Midwest. Hopefully we can start doing electronic data tracking! Musically, I want to see more black female and male artist dominate the independent scenes, especially with open mics. I do a lot of open mics, and I don’t see a lot of black singers. I want to see more of them come to the forefront! Another shift that I would love to see is artists and content creators getting properly compensated for their work via streaming. To me, and I’m sure others, 40 cents per stream isn’t close enough for making adequate revenue. We need to start seeing that number increase asap! We should be seeing at least 2 dollars per streaming. I also want to see the music industry welcome more artists who are of the LGBTQIA community. There’s a plethora of talent in that community. However, big industry execs see it but refuse to acknowledge it. We as a society need to do better.
