We’re looking forward to introducing you to Patrick Letts. Check out our conversation below.
Hi Patrick, thank you so much for taking time out of your busy day to share your story, experiences and insights with our readers. Let’s jump right in with an interesting one: What do the first 90 minutes of your day look like?
Depending on if I have my kids (have 50/50) custody. When I have them I get them up and while they are doing their morning routine I check emails then when they are ready we head to school. After I drop them off I go to the gym and workout. I’ll check my emails between sets. When done the gym I’ll go to Della Roses and work from there returning emails and calls and then looking for ways to grow my business.
The only difference is when I don’t have my kids I get the gym a little earlier
Can you briefly introduce yourself and share what makes you or your brand unique?
At the core of Crab Kickers is fun! Fun nurtures a child’s inner growth while he/she begins to develop important skills not only in soccer, but also in life. Each class is designed to improve your child’s physical health, nurture their confidence, and self-esteem, develop their creativity and decision-making built specifically on a foundation of fun.
We create a dynamic environment where children can develop soccer skills, social skills, coordination…, confidence and self-esteem, all while having FUN!
Crab Kickers is a one-of-a-kind soccer program developed to provide a dynamic environment where children can develop soccer skills, social skills, coordination, confidence and self-esteem built on a solid foundation of fun.
What Makes us Different:
Our programs span a broad range of ages and abilities. Many of the children have been with us since they were two.
Children in our programs not only evolve their abilities on the soccer field, but watch them grow in confidence both socially and athletically.
Our experienced staff starts with making sure kids have fun as they continue to succeed. In the end, continued participation is key, be it in soccer or anything else in life. If your child is enjoying it, they will continue to play.
Great, so let’s dive into your journey a bit more. Who taught you the most about work?
My mom and dad. They taught me the value of hardwork, being on time/valuing other people’s time (I’m always early for meetings or appointments) and keeping your word
Was there ever a time you almost gave up?
I started Crab Kickers over 10 years ago and we have been successful especially after Covid. But I’ve been going through a divorce since April 2023 (just ended July 2025). The last 8 months it seemed like nothing was going right and I almost threw in the towel, but working with my therapist realized it’s just the stress of the divorce and once it’s over we’ll grow again.
I also told myself I wanted to do right by my employees and grow the business and make sure we are all successful. Plus, I didn’t want to tell my kids I gave up when I was going through the lowest point in my life. I want to show them I battled through adversity and came out just fine and they will do if they find themselves in a tough spot
I think our readers would appreciate hearing more about your values and what you think matters in life and career, etc. So our next question is along those lines. What would your closest friends say really matters to you?
Loyalty, respect, appreciation and hard work
Before we go, we’d love to hear your thoughts on some longer-run, legacy type questions. What is the story you hope people tell about you when you’re gone?
That I was a great father. That I was always there for my children no matter what.
On the business side that I cared about my employees and wanted to make sure they were taken care of; that I cared about all the kids in my programs and wanted them to have a great time
