Today we’d like to introduce you to Sheena Nicole.
Hi Sheena, please kick things off for us with an introduction to yourself and your story.
Since I was a little girl I’ve always loved everything fashion from fabrics, patterns, colors and accessories and most of all getting to outfit and put things together. Coming from two very fashionable parents. I definitely get my love for fashion from my dad. He is one of the most fashionable men in my life. And my mom is the accessory queen. I knew that I always wanted to be in the fashion industry but not really knowing which outlet to take. Having a couple of retail jobs helped me to develop skills with styling people and loving it. I started my career off as a wardrobe stylist by styling short films. Those films are now on Amazon Prime and You Tube. I won best wardrobe for both! It was so much fun being able to work on set with so many other talented individuals. I then moved on to styling artist in the industry for music videos and red carpets and also other creators in the industry. Winning Stylist of the year 2xs for the S.E.A. for 2022/2023 changed my life and connected me with some pretty amazing people and also allowed me to be in rooms that I always dreamt of being in as a little girl. I volunteered for Noir Fashion Week in New York and I am now also Backstage Manager and Stylist. I’m so grateful for all of the opportunities that has been given to me. I’m still on my journey and it’s been so amazing. Never give up on your dreams because dreams do true with hardwork and effort.
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
The journey has not always been easy but it has been worth it for sure. It’s has definitely been times when I wanted to throw in the towel for my career but having a little one look up to you makes a big difference . The biggest challenges for me over time has been just trying to build a steady clientele. One thing I’ve learned a long the way is networking is a must and needed. Also being able to step in front of the camera to be more seen by people so they get to know the me and the face behind the brand.
Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
I am a wardrobe stylist. What sets me apart from others that may do the same as I do. I actually style men and women. And knowing what actually works for each of their body types. I typically don’t follow trends and I’m just myself. I make people look good and feel good about themselves and that is the biggest reward for me. Because we all the know the saying “When you look good, you feel good.”
Can you share something surprising about yourself?
That I’m extremely obsessed with coats and layering pieces. I probably own at least 250 coats/jackets. And about 500 or more shoes of different styles. A girl has to always have options lol
