Today we’d like to introduce you to Patrice Fields.
Hi Patrice, please kick things off for us with an introduction to yourself and your story.
I’ve been interested in nails and fashion since my teenage years. I got my Nail Technician license right after high school and have been hooked ever since. From age 19, I gained clientele working from my mom’s basement, then getting a job in a hair salon. For eight years, I worked part-time as a nail technician and sales associate at an apartment community. I finally worked up the courage and saved up the finances to quit my day job and start my business full time. I started C’est Trice Spa in 2005, originally located in Essex, MD. After nine years, we had to close this location. After relocating, I had more time to create and study natural skincare formulation. We’re now located in Baltimore, MD on Belair Rd, where we offer nail and pedicure services. I’ve always had a passion for natural beauty products that make people feel better about themselves. I started our line of natural skincare products CTS Essentials in 2017. I started making concoctions and using them on clients for their services (foot baths, hand massages, cuticle oils). And after some time, clients wanted to know what products I was using. After a while, I started giving them to clients and getting their honest feedback. This has all lead to where we are today. Proudly serving the community with honesty and integrity. I have gained a loyal clientele that have become more like family. Now I am able to help build future entrepreneurs do what they love and make people feel good about themselves.
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
Entrepreneurship has not been a smooth ride. Some of my struggles in the beginning of my career were having a steady clientele to pay bills at home as well as bills for the business. I overcame those struggles by being resilient and not giving up.
As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about what you do?
My work is to uplift people and make them feel happy about themselves inside and out. My passion has always been nail artistry which leads to formulating aromatic natural plant-based products that improves health of the mind, body, and spirit.
I am known for my expertise in nail perfection. I would say that I work hard at giving quality services that last and does not damage the nails.
I am also known for CTS Essentials products. Each product really works and gives real results.
I’m most proud of how far I’ve come in my career and for never giving up. It’s so easy to give up and take the easy route but I stuck to what I know best and what I love.
I believe what sets us apart from others is that we try to put the customers first, give them what they ask for while creating a relaxing and comfortable atmosphere. Our products set us apart from others because they are chemical-free and give real results.
Have you learned any interesting or important lessons due to the Covid-19 Crisis?
Covid-19 has showed me that mental health awareness is very important in a time of chaos. I’m thankful to give to people a little ease, comfort, and happiness with our products and services. Our customers say that getting their nails done makes them happy, and using our products makes them feel luxurious. So with a combination so the two, I’ve learned during this pandemic that people need self-care. I’m glad to help out.
