Today we’d like to introduce you to Olga And Dimitrey Didukh.
Hi Olga and Dimitrey, it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start maybe you can share some of your backstory with our readers?
Our story began long before ODDI Studio. As a kid, Olga dreamed of becoming a model, then a fashion designer. At school, she and her best friend shared a jvs camera and spent hours photographing each other and learning how to edit in Photoshop, trying to make every photo feel a little more magical.
Dimitrey found his path through the sky. In 2013, while living in Prague, he started as a drone pilot filming weddings, back when drones were brand new and few people had seen anything like them.
We’re crazy about travel. Together we’ve visited more than 20 countries, from the USA to Laos, and wherever we go, we capture the moments we never want to forget: Dimitrey with video, Olga with photos. Travel taught us to notice the small, real things that make a moment unforgettable, and that’s exactly what we bring to every wedding we shoot.
In 2016, while living in China, we bought our first semi professional camera – Canon 70D. The camera felt like we touched the sky. Olga started shooting street fashion, connected with local photographers, and tried every genre she could to learn. After China, we moved back to Ukraine and spent several years creating fashion photo and video projects. Then came love stories, and eventually our first weddings. We knew right away: this was where we belonged.
In 2022, we made our next big move, to Maryland, and we’ve been building our life and our studio here ever since.
Today, we focus on weddings across Philadelphia, New York, New Jersey, Washington D.C., and Maryland, and we would love to travel across the USA to capture your wedding wherever it takes place. Photography and cinematography, side by side, as a husband-and-wife team. Our dream is simple: to make couples happier and to save their unforgettable moments exactly as they are, capturing love the way it truly feels.
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
It hasn’t always been a smooth road, but the challenges have shaped who we are today.
Our journey has taken us through several countries and stages of life. We’ve lived and worked in Prague, China, Ukraine, and now the United States, and each move meant starting over in some way: building new connections, learning a new environment, and finding our place creatively.
The biggest move came in 2022, when the war began in Ukraine and we left in search of a safe place to start our life over. We arrived in the US with a lot of hope and had to rebuild our business and our community from the ground up. Earning trust and recognition in a new place takes time, especially as a small husband-and-wife team.
Another challenge has been learning to adapt while continuing to grow. Photography and filmmaking are always changing, and we’ve never wanted to stand still creatively. We’ve explored fashion, street photography, drone work, love stories, and finally weddings. Every stage taught us something that we still bring into our work today.
Looking back, this journey reminded us why we started in the first place. We love creating together, meeting people, traveling to new places, and preserving meaningful moments. Every challenge has made us more intentional about our work and about the experience we want to give our couples.
Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
We’re ODDI Studio, a husband-and-wife wedding photography and cinematography team based in Maryland. We tell love stories through photos and film, capturing real emotions and unposed moments exactly as they happen. We work with couples across Maryland, Washington D.C., Philadelphia, New York, and New Jersey, and we love traveling anywhere in the USA to be part of your wedding day.
What was your favorite childhood memory?
Olga: My strongest and happiest childhood memories are about my family and the time we spent together. I remember traveling with my mom, cooking with my grandma, and spending summers at the dacha with my grandparents. I laughed and sang with my grandpa, danced with my mom, and wrote little dictionaries and read books with my grandma. I was a really happy kid.
The memory that connects most to my passion is photographing with my mom on an old film camera, then developing the photos together in our red-light room. It felt like pure magic, watching an image slowly appear on paper. I can still remember that feeling and the smell of the room. Looking back, I think that’s where my love for photography began: the idea that a moment can be saved and that you can hold it in your hands later.
Dimitrey: I remember my stepfather’s VHS camcorder. Growing up in the post-USSR era, we didn’t have much; most families were poor. Then I saw that camcorder with its zoom lens, and it felt like magic. It was like making E.T., except the movie was my parents’ party.
