Today we’d like to introduce you to Mya Prince.
Alright, thank you for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us how you got started?
I created my social & networking platform in 2017 being a new momtrepreneur. I was a newly certified MUA looking to get my business out to the community,I wasn’t as patient as I am now. I was so eager and hungry I didn’t want to wait for anyone to give me an opportunity so I created a way to network within my community with creatives who thought just like me. So with that, I would be marketing my business as well as socializing and networking at the same time. My favorite things to do most!
I’m sure you wouldn’t say it’s been obstacle-free, but so far would you say the journey has been fairly smooth?
Of course within life alone there are obstacles. I’ve dealt with everything from family trauma/ death/ divorce/ last minute venue closings the day off/vendors cancellations/ not profiting or just merely breaking even and everything in between. But I like to stay positive and optimistic and not focus on the things I can’t control but GROW through the process.
As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar, what can you tell them about what you do?
I am the CEO & Founder of Mya Prince Cosmetics, which launched May 14th find all your essential black girl luxury products on my site Myaprincecosmetics.com. I am also the Creator of Issavibe Events, “Where all creative minds connect,” a social & networking event created by an entrepreneur for entrepreneurs that provide more than a platform but resources to thrive as a small business owner. That’s why we were called “The Plug.”
Are there any important lessons you’ve learned that you can share with us?
It always boils down to …… How bad do you want it? We all go through things or are going through things but it all remains HOW BAD DO YOU WANT IT?
