Today we’d like to introduce you to Morgan Lee
Hi Morgan, please kick things off for us with an introduction to yourself and your story.
I’ve been creating for as long as I can remember. Growing up, I was surrounded by art—my father is an artist, so I naturally developed an eye for creativity. As a kid, I loved drawing and painting, and my sketches always caught the attention of classmates and teachers. Whether it was doodling on homework or bringing projects to life with my artwork, I was always in my creative zone.
In seventh grade, I attended Baltimore Design School, where I thrived in an environment filled with like-minded creatives. That experience solidified my love for design and artistic expression. By high school, I began translating my art into something tangible—fashion. I started making and printing T-shirts, launching my own clothing brand. Seeing how well it was received, I expanded into designing for other brands. Since I had access to printing equipment, I started a business catering to bulk orders for clothing brands, while also offering graphic design services like logos, business cards, and flyers. Designing for others made me realize how much I enjoyed branding and visual storytelling, which later became an essential part of my creative work.
Attending Western High School, an all-girls school with a uniform policy, I saw an opportunity to help students express themselves beyond the standard polos. I designed custom T-shirts and sweaters for my peers, adding individuality to their everyday wear. Around the same time, my dad gave me an old Nikon camera. I quickly realized that if I wanted to promote my clothing brand effectively, I needed high-quality visuals. That’s when I picked up photography—first capturing product shots, then transitioning into photographing small gatherings and events for family members. Word spread, and I started getting referrals, which eventually led me to shift my focus entirely to photography and videography.
I turned my mom’s two-car garage into a makeshift studio and began excelling in photography. With my savings, I invested in a Sony A6000 and dove into videography. I had friends pursuing music who let me shoot their music videos, despite having no prior experience. I taught myself everything through “YouTube University” and honed my skills over time.
Beyond photography and videography, I continued developing my graphic design services, creating everything from cover art to branding materials. My passion for design and content creation has allowed me to work on a variety of projects, helping businesses and artists bring their visions to life.
During my junior year, I worked at a YouthWorks program, where I met Amanda Holland. We both had the same camera, instantly connected, and have been close collaborators ever since—though we now run our own separate businesses.
Throughout my journey, I’ve had the privilege of working with notable names such as Iyanla Vanzant (Iyanla: Fix My Life), music artist Pardison Fontaine, creative director Matt Cole, BET producer Chris Bivens, Kash Doll, Baltimore rapper YG Teck, TikTok star Zeddy Will, Honey Baby, Horseshoe Casino, YouTuber Danny Grubs, Ceasar Entertainment, and Olympic track star Noah Lyles, among others.
What started as a passion for art has evolved into a full-time creative career, and I’m grateful for every opportunity to bring visions to life through my lens.
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
One of my biggest challenges was figuring out what service to provide that was in high demand. As a creative, I had so many skills, but I had to narrow my focus to something people would consistently pay for. The first step was finding my audience—who needed my work, and how could I reach them?
When I started with photography, I quickly realized I needed a proper studio space. That was a challenge at first, but my mom turned our garage into a home studio, which allowed me to create in a more professional setting. Finding clientele was another struggle, but I learned that the best way to attract business was to simply produce good work. Word-of-mouth became my biggest asset, and recommendations started flowing in.
Another challenge was finding consistent work. In the creative industry, especially when you’re just starting out, there are slow seasons. Learning how to market myself and diversify my services—offering photography, videography, and graphic design—helped me overcome that.
But my biggest obstacle was self-doubt. I struggled with feeling like I wasn’t good enough or equipped for the recognition I wanted. I constantly compared myself to other creators, which only hindered my growth. Once I stopped overanalyzing and started focusing on my own lane, I was able to excel. Believing in my work and staying consistent opened doors for me, and now I see how much potential I always had—I just had to trust in it.
Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
I am a videographer, photographer, and graphic designer who specializes in bringing visions to life through creative storytelling. Whether it’s capturing moments through a lens, designing eye-catching visuals, or producing engaging video content, my goal is always to create something that resonates.
I’m known for my versatility and attention to detail. I’ve worked with a range of clients, from small businesses to major brands, musicians, and creatives, helping them elevate their visuals and stand out. Whether it’s music videos, brand campaigns, event recaps, business promotions, or graphic design projects like flyers, business cards, and cover art, I bring a unique artistic touch to everything I do.
One of the things I’m most proud of is how I’ve built my business from the ground up, starting as a kid with a passion for art and turning it into a full-time career. I taught myself photography and videography out of necessity, but it quickly became my way of expressing creativity on a whole new level. Now, I get to work with high-profile artists, businesses, and brands, and seeing my work out in the world—whether on social media, in music videos, or in marketing campaigns—is a feeling like no other.
What sets me apart is my ability to do it all. I’m not just a videographer, not just a photographer, and not just a designer—I blend all these skills together to create high-quality, visually compelling content that tells a story. I also pride myself on my ability to adapt and connect with clients, making sure their vision comes to life in a way that feels authentic and impactful.
At the end of the day, my work isn’t just about creating visuals—it’s about making people feel something, helping brands grow, and giving artists and businesses the quality content they deserve.
How do you think about luck?
I wouldn’t consider it luck—I’d say it was a blessing. I was blessed to meet the right people who inspired and supported me. I was blessed to find my passion at a young age, which gave me a head start in perfecting what my younger self once dreamed of. And I was blessed to be born with this creative fire inside me.
But blessings alone don’t build success—consistency does. There were moments of self-doubt, times when I felt like I wasn’t good enough, when I compared myself to others and questioned if I’d ever make it. I realized that waiting for something to magically change my life wasn’t an option. I had to create my own opportunities, trust my talent, and bet on myself.
I’ve learned that blessings will open doors, but you have to walk through them. It’s the late nights, the trial and error, the belief in yourself even when no one else sees the vision—that’s what makes the difference. Now, I’m simply continuing what my younger self started, pushing past fear, and embracing the journey. Because at the end of the day, it’s not just about being blessed—it’s about making the most of every blessing you receive.
