Today we’d like to introduce you to Mekiel Miles.
Hi Mekiel, we’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
I’ve spent two decades leading in retail, managing multi-million dollar operations, and guiding teams through countless challenges. Yet, amidst all that structure, I found myself craving a deeper, more personal outlet for healing and growth. That’s where my journal was born. It’s the culmination of my own journey of releasing past chapters and welcoming new ones. I took the same leadership, structure, and heart that I used in retail and turned it inward—creating a guided space for others to reflect, release, and set new intentions. It’s both a product and a personal milestone that shows I’m still evolving—and inviting others to do the same.
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
It definitely hasn’t always been smooth. Leaving behind a stable career mindset to pursue something personal was intimidating. I had self-doubt, worried if anyone would care about my story, and even struggled with technical hurdles—like figuring out how to get my journal just right on a platform like KDP. But every hurdle reminded me why this mattered: if I can create something meaningful out of my own challenges, others can too.
Thanks – so what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
I consider myself both a storyteller and a guide. I’ve created a guided journal titled ‘I Release, I Welcome,’ which helps others reflect on letting go of the past and embracing new beginnings. My inspiration comes from my travels—exploring over 50 countries, where I’ve learned that every journey outward is also a journey inward. What sets me apart is how I blend my leadership roots with creative introspection, giving people a structured yet deeply personal space to grow.
What’s next?
Looking forward, I’m working on a second journal—taking what I’ve learned and expanding this journey of release and welcome even further. But on a larger scale,
I’m preparing for a big leap—moving abroad (Vietnam) to fully immerse myself in new cultures and, honestly, to keep discovering who I am outside of my comfort zone. I’ve had moments of pride and moments of loneliness, but through it all, I’m learning to stay grounded. My next chapter is about embracing change, seeking personal freedom, and finding joy in the process of becoming.
