Today we’d like to introduce you to MaryLynn Bast.
Alright, so thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started?
I have been able to see and speak with those who have passed from a very young age. When I was four years old, my mother saw me sitting on the front port talking to someone and doing something with my hands. When she asked, I told her I was talking to the lady and petting the cat. She told me she couldn’t see them and asked me what they looked like. We had just moved in to the small house. The lady who owned the house had moved across the street. When visiting, I pointed out the photo on the mantel and told my mom that is the woman I was talking to. Come to find out the ladies mother had passed away and she had moved into the larger home and rented the smaller home to us. The cat I described was the mom’s cat who had gotten hit by a car two weeks after her mother passed away.
My mother was a little apprehensive for others to find out what I could do, so she made me keep it a secret. When I was 19 I started having very vivid dreams. I was getting ready to be married and the night before my wedding, I dreamed my dress was stained red from the waist down. My mother didn’t show up for my wedding. The next morning the police came to my door and informed me she was in the hospital. She passed away the day after my wedding due to a extreme blood loss from hemorrhaging.
I started researching, reading anything I could get my hands on about visions, dreams and the spiritual world. I studied and became a Reiki Master, a Certified Life Coach, and an Author. I use my skills to provide answers and closure for the living and the departed. I am creative and recently started painting and found that my art was another form readings and have started provided Intuitive Art with readings.
This past year, Michael Gagliano and I teamed up and starred in an original series “Para With A Normal” on BeaconTV. We stated our own production company, Lost Goat Productions, LLC and have completed production for Season 2. We have four other projects we are currently filming with anticipated releases early 2026.
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
It has not been a smooth road growing up as a psychic. I grew. up in Texas, deep in the heart of what is considered to be the Bible Belt. My abilities were very much frowned upon and was told I am worshiping the devil doing tarot, investigating haunted locations, and giving false hope to people who have lost loved ones. It’s been a struggle to continue what I do with so much negativity. I left Texas and moved to Las Vegas, where I found my “tribe.” Like minded people who had the same abilities that wanted to connected with like minded people. This gave me the opportunity to open up and grow into who I am today. Being back in Texas, I still get the looks when people find out what I do, but they are not as vocal as they were when I was younger. I am finding people are becoming a little more open minded, for the most part.
Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your work?
I am a certified life coach and reiki master. When I connect with people and animals, I can actually feel when they have medical issues. I literally feel the pain. Once I vocalize and the client confirms, the pain goes away. The one thing that sets me apart is my creative ability with acrylic paint pours. I have the client choose 3 to 4 colors and I allow the paints to flow onto the canvas without the use of paint brushes. The techniques for paint pouring is very unpredictable. As I allow the paints to move, they tell a story, which I read and point out to the client as they watch.
What matters most to you? Why?
What matters most to me is that help others find answers and sometimes closures to the questions left unanswered by loved ones, or even life situations that have happened. Being there to listen and provide guidance is very important and for them to know there is no judgment. During our sessions I provide chakra balancing which helps to calm the client and releases negative energies. During this process, the energy exchanges provides balance for me as well. It’s important as a spiritual guide and healer to remain in balance myself.
