Today we’d like to introduce you to Mabi Morka.
Mabi, we appreciate you taking the time to share your story with us today. Where does your story begin?
Doing nails has always been a hobby of mine. I used to always do my mom’s nails when I was younger and I would always try new nail designs on myself. I also have always been an artistic person, drawing and painting since I was a kid. In 2018, I went to college at Towson University where I found myself picking up nails as a hobby again.
I remember practicing a lot in my free time. Over the years at Towson, a lot of students were coming to me to get their nails done. Doing nails is definitely something I fell in love with. It was a bit demanding to be a student and a nail technician at the same time but I made it work.
Fast forward to now, I graduated from Towson University with my degree in Psychology and I went to Nail Technology School. Doing nails has become one of the most important parts of my life now.
We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
It was not always a smooth road. In the beginning, it was hard for me to practice nails without the smell of the products bothering other people. My family didn’t really like the smell of it but they were still supportive of me.
We’ve been impressed with Nailz By Mabi, but for folks who might not be as familiar, what can you share with them about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
I am a nail technician that specializes in acrylic enhancements. I love to do long nail sets that incorporate drawings and fine details. What I am most proud about is that I grew my Instagram to over ten thousand followers. I think what sets me apart is my customer service and the way that I care for my clients.
I try my best to create comfortable environments for my clients and nails that they love. I want people to know that I offer unique acrylic nail services for all nail lengths and I have press-on nails available. I also offer one on ones to help other nail techs improve their skills.
How do you define success?
I define success as receiving the rewards of your hard work and living the life that you have always wanted. A life that is surrounded by comfort, ease, and luxury. At the same time, success is also surrounded by a lot of discipline and dedication.
