Meet Krista Demcher

Today we’d like to introduce you to Krista Demcher.

Hi Krista, we’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
I was born a small-town Pennsylvania girl and my first big dream was to be a Penn State cheerleader, but I quickly discovered that cheering on women who want more for their life was what I was born to do. The problem was – I just didn’t know how to best do it. “I know there’s more for me” was a phrase that was on repeat for much of my life, and while it created a lot of resistance and frustration at times – I now credit it getting me to where I am today. After graduating with an MEd in Counseling, I worked for eight years helping women and children to build their confidence, clarity and communication skills with my signature empathetic but direct approach. The birth of my first daughter Ava made me yearn for more work/life freedom, so I took what she learned as a counselor and applied it in the business world by building a multi-million dollar sales team in the social selling space. I quickly rose to the top of .01 percent of my company, had two more babies – Emme and Bennett – and loved the flexibility and freedom that the business gave me. After a decade of selling close to one million dollars and building a team of thousands across the country, that familiar “I know there’s more for me” bubbled up to the surface again. I made the leap of faith to walk away from the business I worked so hard to build so that I could bring my coaching to an even bigger audience. I founded the ACORN Method – a five step process to help current or aspiring entrepreneurs master their mindset and messaging so that they can serve and sell more – in January 2020 and have had over 330 women through my programs since.

I’m sure you wouldn’t say it’s been obstacle free, but so far would you say the journey have been a fairly smooth road?
If there’s one thing that’s certain about entrepreneurship, it’s that it’s not going to be a smooth road! I’ve learned to embrace the peaks and valleys and know that it’s all a part of the process. As someone who wants to be good at things right away, the hardest part of this whole journey has been accepting that when you begin – you’re just not going to be that good. Your first video will stink, your first podcast will tank, you won’t get many people buying your first products. When that happens, it’s tempting to quit – to throw in the towel with a “well that didn’t work out” mentality. But what I’ve learned over the past 11 years is that you have to keep creating. Keep doing the thing that sets your soul on fire, and be relentless in the pursuit of your dreams, even when things aren’t shaping up the way you want them to. I’ve had $0 sales months. Programs in which no one signed up. Failed sales calls, opportunities that I’ve missed. And the only reason I’m where I am right now is because I didn’t let any of those things stop me – nor should you.

Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know?
Though I have three human children, I call my business my fourth baby because I’ve poured so much time into nurturing it! I’m proud to say I have founded a signature process called the ACORN Method. All programs within it are designed to help female entrepreneurs master their mindset and messaging and turn experience into income. Founded on the premise that “mighty oaks from little acorns grow”, this 5-step system will help you connect the dots between all your past experiences, clarify your unique value and communicate it clearly and confidently so you can serve others better and sell more.

The ACORN Method has four signature programs:

1 – Selling on Social, which will give you the tools and knowledge you need to build a personal brand and effectively market yourself on social media

2 – Bootcamp, a small group program that goes deep into rewiring your mindset and creating compelling messaging about who you are and how you can serve others with your business

3 – Academy, a continuation program for Bootcamp graduates that allows you to be in close community with other entrepreneurs and continue to learn and grow.

4 – Retreat, which is a small group intensive held over 4 days in Baltimore that will enhance your confidence, clarity and communication skills in the most intimate and magical of ways.

The difference between the ACORN Method and other programs out there is simple: the community. In a world that is becoming increasingly more digital, real true connection with others is waning. The ACORN Method community has a mission to change that; to build bonds over business so you never have to feel the loneliness that entrepreneurship often brings. Our programs are run in small groups so that you connect quickly to others, and the support and encouragement you receive are second to none. Students become ACORN family members for life, and the sisterhood is truly like nothing else out there.

Do you have any advice for those just starting out?
Everyone starts as a beginner. The people you look up to and admire aren’t smarter or better than you, they’ve just committed to playing the long game and not giving up. Your superpower will be your consistency. Entrepreneurship is truly a game of who can last the longest. You don’t need to be the most talented – you just need to play the long game. Overnight success is a myth. Every person who seems like they made it quickly has years of behind the scenes work that you’ve never seen. It’s going to take longer and be harder than you think – but the feeling of gratification you will have from seeing your dream brought to life will be far better than you can even imagine!
