Hi Justice, we’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
As an active duty military member, enlisting in 2016, I had no idea that this journey would lead me to where I am today. I first entered the hair industry in 2017 while stationed in Denver, Colorado. At the time, I didn’t have anyone to do my hair, so I started making my own wigs by hand using a needle and thread. I occasionally took clients, but it wasn’t anything serious—I was mostly doing hair for my girlfriends.
Fast forward to my next duty station in Hawaii, when COVID hit. In 2020, I started taking clients more seriously, offering services at very affordable prices while building a community and clientele. That same year, I transitioned into machine-sewing my wigs to improve quality and efficiency.
In 2022, I launched my online e-commerce business under the name Just Right Wigs. I wanted my brand to represent me, and incorporating my name into my business was important. However, in 2024, I had to relocate to Maryland due to a new duty station. I took that as an opportunity to rebrand my business, leading to the second iteration of my entrepreneurship, Just Vibe Hair. Since I don’t just make wigs—I also install them, do sew-ins, and offer various hair services—I wanted a name that reflected the full scope of my expertise beyond wigs.
Balancing my business while active duty in the Navy has been challenging, especially through multiple deployments. There were times when I had to pause and restart my business, but I always found a way to adapt. I even did hair and made wigs while deployed on a ship whenever I had the chance.
Now, being back in the States, I’m grateful to continue growing my business and evolving within the hair industry. Currently, I specialize in wig-making, wig services, installations, sew-ins, and selling hair.
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
It definitely hasn’t been a smooth road—it’s been very challenging, especially with my commitment to the Navy. I often feel like I haven’t had the opportunity to reach as many goals or learn new techniques at the pace I’d like because my business always comes second. It’s constantly on the back burner due to my military obligations.
But despite that, I’ve always found a way to adapt. I’m strong-willed and eager to learn, which has been a major asset. I remind myself not to compare my journey to others because no one else is walking the same path I am. Balancing a full-time military career while running a business isn’t easy, and honestly, I don’t know if many people could do it. Most of my clients don’t even realize I’m in the military, and when I tell them, they’re shocked. They always ask, “How do you do it?” And sometimes, I wonder the same thing—I just do.
I’ve had to make a lot of sacrifices, including time with my husband and family, to keep my business going. But I remind myself that I’m working toward something bigger. There’s a greater goal at the end of this journey, and I know I’ll reach it.
Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know?
Just Vibe Hair has been through a lot, and I’m proud to say I’m entering my sixth year of entrepreneurship. I owe my success to my family, friends, clients, community, and my husband, all of whom have supported me along this journey. My business is built on customer service, client retention, and creating a community where people feel confident, beautiful, and valued through their hair.
I specialize in wig-making services, wig maintenance, wig installs, and sew-ins. I’m best known for my expert wig installs, wig-making skills, and the comfort and convenience my wigs provide. What sets me apart is my bold and authentic personality, which allows me to connect with my clients on a personal level. I take the time to understand their preferences and lifestyles so I can tailor their wigs and services to fit their individual needs.
I’m especially proud of how I’ve continued to evolve my brand, staying ahead of trends in an ever-changing hair industry. My ability to remain authentic while taking my business seriously has allowed me to consistently generate income and grow my clientele.
What I want people to know about Just Vibe Hair is that it offers a unique kind of luxury—not just an aesthetic luxury but a personal, comforting experience that every client deserves. I love making and creating wigs, experimenting with colors and styles, and pushing myself to think outside the box. I also love installing wigs and doing natural-looking sew-ins, which provide long-lasting results.
Although I’m not yet a licensed hairstylist—yet being the key word—I take pride in the professionalism and quality of my work. Not having a license doesn’t make me any less capable of providing luxury hair services that elevate my clients’ confidence and style. My time in the military has delayed my ability to get licensed, but once I do, I know my brand and business will only continue to grow and thrive.
Are there any apps, books, podcasts, blogs or other resources you think our readers should check out?
I don’t really read books, listen to podcasts, or follow blogs. Most of my inspiration comes from social media, especially Instagram and TikTok. I’m motivated by other content creators who share the same aspirations as me. Seeing their journeys, the challenges they’ve faced, and how they’ve navigated their businesses has helped me stay creative, build my brand, and avoid stagnation.
I draw inspiration from many different creators and peers in the hair industry. While I may not know all their names, their work and experiences continue to inspire and push me forward.
