Today we’d like to introduce you to Joy Young.
Hi Joy, so excited to have you with us today. What can you tell us about your story?
My story began long before I had the degrees, certifications, or executive titles. I built my career from the ground up, learning how businesses operate by working inside complex organizations and solving the problems that other people often avoided. Over more than 26 years, I progressed through operations, supply chain, technology, construction, project management, and executive leadership—leading teams and multimillion-dollar programs across commercial, federal, and mission-critical environments.
Along the way, I earned an MBA, a doctorate in business and certifications in project management, Agile leadership, Lean Six Sigma, safety, and supply chain management. But my most valuable education came from navigating real workplaces, overcoming systemic barriers, rebuilding after setbacks, and learning how to turn uncertainty into strategy.
Those experiences led me to create Xennial Consulting. I recognized that talented professionals and entrepreneurs often do not lack ambition—they lack clarity, structure, access, and an executable plan. Today, I help clients transform ideas into sustainable businesses, reposition their expertise for greater income, strengthen their operations, and move from simply working hard to building with intention.
I am also a speaker, coach, course creator, author, and founder of the Regal Mindset Impact Foundation. Whether I am advising an executive, helping an entrepreneur launch, leading a complex program, or speaking from a stage, my work is centered on one mission: helping people recognize their value, build pathways beyond barriers, and create opportunities that change their lives and communities.
We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
Heck no!!! Some of my struggles is being severely underestimated, underutilized and discredited. I’ve been siloed and forced out of work circles and the list goes on and on!
As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about what you do?
My professional work is in Executive Project management. I am known as a “fixer” – the Olivia Pope of project management. I now used my skills and experience to create assets and build pathways for entrepreneurs and especially black women.
How do you think about happiness?
Fishing, creating and seeing someone achieve success in their life.
