Meet Josh Baynham of Baltimore

Today we’d like to introduce you to Josh Baynham.

Hi Josh, so excited to have you on the platform. So before we get into questions about your work-life, maybe you can bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today?
It all started with burning mix CDs in high school quickly turned into DJing college house parties at UMD and eventually headlining packed clubs and bars across Baltimore, DC, and Virginia. I have been DJing since 2007 and performed my first wedding in 2010.

From 2010 to 2018, I immersed myself in the nightlife scene, developing a sharp instinct for reading a crowd and building high-energy dance floors. Since 2019, I focused on weddings, corporate events, and private parties, bringing the same club-level energy with a polished, professional touch.

As open-format DJ, I blend genres and generations seamlessly, customizing each set to fit the vibe of the crowd and the vision of the event. My goal is simple: keep the dance floor packed and the memories lasting. When I am not DJing, I enjoy my life with my wife and three kids in the Baltimore suburbs. My love for my family fuels my commitment to creating moments of connection and celebration at every event.

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
Starting out was a challenge because of the startup cost of having a business so I was buying piece by piece. I was able to keep consantant work but I got to a point in 2022 where the covid reschedule weddings were too much. I had to learn to only take what I could handle. I no was doing 3x weddings a week at the height. That was too much.

Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your work?
I am a Mobile DJ and nightlife DJ. I love them both equilly. I love the artisticfreedom of nightlife and the pressure of the weddings. I feel so honored to be the entertainment for the most important day of their lives.

In terms of your work and the industry, what are some of the changes you are expecting to see over the next five to ten years?
Very Strong. DC Baltimore area is a great locations for weddings. AS long as I provide
