Today we’d like to introduce you to Jennifer Stuck.
Alright, so thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started?
Growing up, my dad was an amazing cook but even better baker. I loved spending time with him in the kitchen and always loved baking but it wasn’t until my husband got stationed in San Diego, CA with the Navy that an opportunity to attend culinarily came up.
I attended the San Diego Culinary Institute in LA Mesa. But shortly after graduating, I had my first of three boys and decided to be a stay-at-home mom. As my kids grew, I was making birthday cakes, preschool treats, playdate goodies, and over time friends started asking me to make their cakes. And then finally in 2017, I started my home-based bakery.
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
It’s been pretty smooth. As soon as I created a Facebook page things really took off. I still remember my first order that wasn’t a friend or family member and how exciting it was.
Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
I think I’m best known for my cakes and custom sugar cookies. I really love being creative and using new techniques to create a variety of designs. I love creating a new cake for each customer, I almost never make the exact design twice.
What are your plans for the future?
Definitely looking ahead to expanding and opening a storefront.
