Meet Jay Wafer of Frontline Homes, LLC

Today we’d like to introduce you to Jay Wafer.

Hi Jay, we’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
I started in real estate back in 2017 with not much experience but a passion for succeeding and serving others and the real estate industry community. My biggest motivations come from my family, particularly my late grandmother, who started a brief journey in real estate, and my great grandfather. He owned his own construction company many years ago. For years I always pondered here and there about real estate. It was late summer/early fall of 2017 when I said the time was now. I finally took action and made efforts to get this new journey underway. I attended as many seminars as possible, networked at numerous events, and just strived to make all efforts to learn as much as possible about real estate and how to become an investor and professional. By the end of 2017, I found myself completing my first real estate transaction and gained so much momentum and confidence to excel even more. Fast forward to 2022. By this time, I’ve met numerous real estate transactions and projects, including renovating distressed properties and turning them into someone’s dream home, which is a wonderful feeling, might I say, started a rental portfolio, and recently established a project management division to my company, all of which I didn’t think was possible when first starting. Not only that, but I have also helped family and friends get started in real estate and start achieving their goals. In addition, in honor of my late grandmother, I obtained my real estate sales license in 2021 to be of service to buyers, sellers, and fellow investors. It’s a blessing and an honor to help others and serve the local Baltimore community through real estate. I would not be where I am today or have success if it weren’t for the good lord above, the support from my family, friends, my lovely fiancé, partners, and of course, all of my great mentors along the way.

Can you talk to us about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way? Would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
Throughout my experiences, there have certainly been some challenges and struggles along the way, but my outlook is and always has been that challenges are meant to be overcome. Some challenges I faced, for example, where finding the right and qualified personnel to complete various construction jobs as deadlines would quickly approach, failed inspections, etc. Despite all of these struggles and challenges, I was able to turn them around into victories and learned from them. There have been times when I wanted to give up, questioned if this was the right career path for me, etc., but I did not let that deter me but instead used that as fuel to drive me to do better and learn from my mistakes and perfect my craft.

Great, so let’s talk business. Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
Frontline Homes is a real estate company in Baltimore, Maryland, that provides services to buyers, sellers, and investors with the main focus of providing professional, reliable, and efficient services to our clients and the community. Our affiliated partners and we purchase distressed properties, renovate them and make them ready for first-time homebuyers, those seeking their next home to call “home sweet home,” whether purchasing or renting. Our goal is not only to provide affordable homes but also to restore and revitalize neighborhoods one house at a time. I’m excited to share that Frontline Homes now offers project management services. What I like to say that sets us apart from others is that we take the time to get to know our clients and their needs, communicate with them around the clock rather than during set hours, and don’t hesitate to go the extra mile to ensure our client’s goals met, and also, as of great importance, educate our clients on the real estate market, industry, trends, etc. So, for those who have building/construction projects that need oversight, we’d be more than happy to help assist.

What matters most to you?
What matters the most to me is being able to give back to others, help those better themselves, and improve their quality of living. My company has further allowed me to do just that and more. We are in very trying times in this world, and we can all do our part and lend a hand to one another and lift each other. I believe that we all have a specialty, and ability, and resources to help bring others up, so let’s come together and use those unique attributes that every one of us has and give back to those in need.
