Today we’d like to introduce you to Janine Serio.
Hi Janine, please kick things off for us with an introduction to yourself and your story.
As a health and wellness professional with over 15 years in the industry, I was looking for a different avenue to showcase all the things I love outside of the fitness/nutrition arena. In Spring of 2017, I moved temporarily to Santa Monica, California and, it was there, I launched into the creation of my personal brand “Fit4Janine,” which later became “Janine Serio.”
While I was known in Baltimore for all things wellness, I wanted people to see the side of me that was a foodie (I love to cook and check out the latest hotspots to dine in the area), fashionista, beauty connoisseur, and travel guru. Maybe I should mention my love of a good cup of coffee, martini, and glass of champagne & wine too!
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
The influencer/brand ambassador market is definitely saturated with amazing people doing some amazing things on social media. The beauty is that, regardless of if you are talking about the same lifestyle components, your “story” and personality are what resonates, attracts, and engages your audience. It’s a daily, consistent effort – a lot more than people realize at times- to make sure good quality content is being delivered on all social media platforms. Some days feel “easier” than others but, at the end of the day, my goal is to share what I love, the knowledge about it, and hope that if it only reaches one (1) person, then I am doing my job!
As you know, we’re big fans of Janine Serio. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about the brand?
I am a Baltimore-based Lifestyle Influencer [“Baltimore-based Lifestyle Influencer to my blog –www.janineserio.com] who talks all about food, fashion, beauty, and travel. I will also cross reference some wellness content – always need to keep my finger on the pulse – with the company I co-own, 2 Health Nuts [www.2healthnuts.com].
One of the biggest components I make sure to encompass in my blogs and social media content is making it relatable. I share personal stories and try to give my audience an inside look at how this content is/was relevant in my life. Building connection & trust with my audience has been pivotal in establishing my reputation and becoming recognized as an expert in my field.
My brand touts all the things that I love, and creates the ability for my audience, as well as future, potential brands, to easily navigate and work with me through my various social media platforms. Whether it’s shoppable content, or working with me one-on-one to develop your own social media campaign, there is something for all! In addition, I have a plethora of FREE content that is constantly being updated as a resource for any and all who are interested in the realm of food, fashion, beauty, and travel.
Who else deserves credit in your story?
There are so many people who have been amazing advocates for myself and the development of my brand! My parents have been my biggest cheerleaders and support system throughout this entire process and have encouraged me to continue to reaching for the starts. No goal is ever too small!
My business partner, the other “Health Nut,” and co-owner of “2 Health Nuts,” has encouraged me to pivot as needed, and to take the necessary steps to building a brand empire!
Of course, there have been a handful of business coaches and mentors in the industry that I look up too, have worked with, and continue to give me inspiration every day to do what I love and create a lifestyle that is “Fit4Me!”
