Today we’d like to introduce you to Erika Baez-Grimes, CM&AP.
Hi Erika, please kick things off for us with an introduction to yourself and your story.
Bio: Erika Baez-Grimes is a first-generation Latina entrepreneur, born in the Dominican Republic, raised in the Sunshine State, who’s passion for business sparked early on, by her late grandfather, a dynamic entrepreneur whose relentless work ethic & hunger for legacy building became the foundation for her own career in enterprise. For the last 15 years Erika has been Quarterbacking large sales negotiations, she is a true champion of the craft—believing that dealmaking is the heartbeat of the business world.
Erika’s career began in her family’s small business, where she developed a deep understanding of entrepreneurship and operational excellence. She went on to become a trusted closer for Fortune 100 companies, successfully negotiating complex, enterprise-level deals.
Building on this foundation, she launched a venture in residential and multifamily real estate, fixing, flipping, and wholesaling dozens of properties—all with the goal of expanding her family’s legacy of land ownership. Following the passing of her grandfather in 2012, Erika became president of The Baez Agency, Inc., a consulting firm dedicated to reshaping financial literacy, identifying and securing key persons, implementing sales strategies, and uncovering hidden organizational value. Her mission was centered on empowering middle-income America to: Be, Do, Secure, and Create more opportunities.

Today, Erika’s primary focus is helping business owners and executives strategically and intentionally exit the marketplace. She represents a national franchise (Transworld Business Advisors) as a respected Certified M&A Professional, where for the past six years, she has guided family-owned and closely held companies through acquisitions & successful exits—with the brand philosophy in mind: “Doing Good Deals for Good People.”
Erika lives in Central Virginia with her husband and blended family. When she’s not closing deals, this basketball fanatic can be found court-side cheering on teams at every level—from high school to the NBA.
I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
There’s been lots of pivots, peaks and valleys! There’s been challenges in every opportunity but my faith has kept me grounded, focused and full of hope.
We’d love to hear about any fond memories you have from when you were growing up?
One of my favorite childhood memories is sitting with my grandfather every morning before school, counting the petty cash for his retail stores. It was our daily ritual—carefully organizing the cash that would go into the registers for the day. What seemed like a simple task at the time became my first lesson in responsibility, discipline, and the value of hard work. And while the mornings were spent counting money, the evenings were just as impactful—gathered around the dinner table, where some of my most important life and business lessons were taught.
