Today we’d like to introduce you to Ean Williams.
Hi Ean, thanks for sharing your story with us. To start, maybe you can tell our readers some of your backstory.
Ean Williams is a former National Security Agency intelligence analyst in the United States Air Force and a professional model and actor (America’s Most Wanted, A Man Called Hawk, and Anacostia). He is also a multi-award-winning event producer and fashion designer of two labels, Magnum Underwear and Corjor International. Using the names of his two oldest sons, Corey and Jordan, Ean Williams created “Corjor International” as the name for his label. Both local and national celebrities wear his designs. Featured in British Vogue, The Washington Post, The Washington Times, Washingtonian Magazine, Time Magazine, The Hilltop, FOX 5, Voice of America, and numerous prestigious publications, his work earns elite respect from the fashion world. His work was featured in both Amsterdam Fashion Week and Serbia Fashion Week. He is also the founder and executive director of DC Fashion Week, a nonprofit organization and the fifth-fastest-growing fashion week in the US, with 41 seasons under its belt.
What separates Williams from his contemporaries isn’t just his taste—it’s his mission. DCFW isn’t about elitism; it’s about elevation. His shows spotlight emerging designers from every background and provide a global stage for local talent. It’s fashion with a heartbeat—diverse, unapologetic, and deeply personal.
In May 2025, Williams unveiled his latest masterpiece: The Washington Hair Show. Held in the buzzing Union Market District and featuring celebrity stylists and makeup artists, the event paid homage to the true artisans behind the scenes—the hairstylists and makeup mavens who transform models into muses.
LA Weekly listed Williams as one of the top 11 entrepreneurs to watch in 2023, and his company, DC Fashion Week, made the 2023 Forbes List of Most Successful Regional Fashion Weeks ( #4 )in the country.
Williams has not only graced the pages of Forbes, ELLE, GQ, Vanity Fair, British Vogue, and L’Officiel, but he also earned the Presidential Lifetime Achievement Award from President Joe Biden—a rare honor that cements his place in both the creative and civic spheres.
He was featured as himself on the hit TLC tv series DC Cupcakes (season 2), and celebrities and fashionistas have worn and adorned his fashions, including Fantasia, Victoria Rowell (The Young and the Restless), Omarosa Manigault Newman(The Apprentice), Nyle DiMarco (Winner America’s Next Top Model), Keith Carlos (Winner America’s Next Top Model) and Sheryl Lee Ralph (Dream Girls & Moesha) and most recently Candiace Dillard-Bassett (The Housewives of Potomac) and recording artist and reality tv star Tamar Braxton (Braxton Family Values, Dancing with the Stars and winner of Celebrity Big Brother).
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
It’s been a bumpy but exciting road traveled. We are often compared to the world’s best fashion weeks, which is an honor, but it is also intimidating, as they receive millions of dollars in sponsorship and government support. Initially, we struggled to get the press to take our platform seriously; however, over the years, we have developed strong relationships with reputable media outlets.
Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your work?
I am the executive director and founder of DC Fashion Week. I have a solid background in the fashion industry, including being a successful working model, a critically acclaimed fashion designer, and an award-winning fashion show producer. What sets me apart is that I have hands-on experience in almost every element of fashion show production, including being a published photographer, hair and makeup artist, video services provider, fashion stylist, and writer of published fashion articles. I am most proud that DC Fashion Week was featured on the Forbes List as one of the most successful regional fashion weeks and was awarded the Presidential Lifetime Achievement Award by President Joe Biden.
