Demi, we appreciate you taking the time to share your story with us today. Where does your story begin?
Hey! I’m Demi, a Senior Cosmetologist and professional makeup artist with 11 years in the beauty industry. My passion for hair began at 12 years old. I quickly fell in love with how beauty can transform appearances in such a beautiful way.
I started my professional journey in 2014 as a beauty advisor for Motives Cosmetics, which led me into makeup artistry. In 2017, I made a life-changing decision to leave my 9–5 as a pharmacy technician to pursue cosmetology full-time as an apprentice. It was a leap of faith, but I knew I had to follow my passion.
Today, I’m grateful I chose purpose over comfort. Beauty, to me, is about empowerment — helping every client leave my chair feeling confident, radiant, and seen.
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
It hasn’t been a smooth road. Leaving my 9–5 with no clientele brought financial uncertainty, slow seasons, and plenty of self-doubt. Balancing long salon days with being a new mom was challenging, but it also fueled my determination to keep going.
After getting my license, I operated a solo salon suite for three years. Economic changes were scary, so in 2023 I returned to a 9–5 while continuing part-time in the business — a balance that let me grow without sacrificing stability.
Every struggle taught me resilience, patience, and confidence. The journey hasn’t been easy, but it strengthened my craft and reminds me why I love this industry.

As a professional makeup artist, i offer signature skin-finish looks with polished, seamless results that last. Every service is rooted in intentional beauty — creating looks that are purposeful, elevated, and tailored to each client’s lifestyle.
I’m known for delivering results with ease, discretion, and attention to detail. I’m a two-time Conservative Award-Winning Makeup Artist in Nottingham, MD, which reflects my commitment to quality and consistency.

What matters most to me is financial freedom and creating a life that allows me to prioritize family and balance. I am building a career that empowers me to provide stability while still having meaningful time with my loved ones. This is important because life is too short. Being present for the people I love gives my work purpose and keeps me grounded. For me, success isn’t just about what I do professionally — it’s about creating intentional beauty in my work and intentional balance in my life.
