Meet Day Service Entertainment

Today we’d like to introduce you to Day Service Entertainment .

Hello Day Service Entertainment, please kick things off for us with an introduction to yourself and your story.
Day Service Entertainment was founded by four childhood friends and started as a formal business in August of 2019. The concept of throwing events and gatherings began for us in 2011 as High school students throwing NYE parties, house parties, and cookouts for our immediate friends. In 2019 we took the step to become a formal business, mainly motivated by our personal experiences traveling and attending events in major cities like Toronto, Miami, Atlanta, and D.C. Our goal was to bring these same events to our hometown, Harrisburg, Pennsylvania, where there was no day party culture or real direction for curated events. In the last 3 years, our business has seen expediential growth. One of the most telling factors in this has been our uptick in attendance, seeing our first event host 200 people to our most recent event hosting over 1600 people. We started with 3 events in 2019 before having to shut down due to the nationwide pandemic. In 2020 we adjusted and stayed relevant by hosting I.G. Live events like “versus battles” and “virtual happy hours” w/ live D.J.s. We also took the time to brainstorm how we’d reintroduce ourselves and continue to move the needle forward. As mandates loosened in 2021, we began for when there was an opportunity again for large-scale events. 2021 as mandates started to be lifted, and we had a run of 3 events, which ended with the final one hosting Quality Control artist, Lakeyah, in September of 2021. Today, for 2022, we’re preparing for our first-party outside our hometown of Harrisburg, PA. Philadelphia, PA, will be our next stop which we’re incredibly excited about and the opportunity to expand further.

I’m sure you wouldn’t say it’s been obstacle-free, but so far would you say the journey has been a fairly smooth road?
The road has been challenging; most of our opportunities have resulted from where we are from. At the same time, we’ve seen such great growth in following it’s been to our detriment because there are few venues to house our crowd in our hometown or central P.A. in general. Beyond that, the biggest roadblock we’ve encountered was the pandemic. Running a business that thrives on in-person interaction was a detriment to us during that time.

Thanks – so what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
Stanley Lumpkin Jr. – Territory Sales Manager/Artist Management Outside of running Day Service, I have 5+ years of experience in the Food and Beverage industry. My career began in 2015 as an undergrad. I work for PepsiCo as a Sales District Leader overseeing Large Format accounts in Central Pa. Outside of my 9-5, I manage an artist from Harrisburg Drewtyrell and run a lifestyle brand Whitespace WRLD Wide. Right now, I’m most proud of Day Service for taking the time to sponsor and coach a youth baseball team in the inner city. Our youth need more positive representation. I’m proud we’re making a conscious of being that.

Jalen Fitzpatrick – Product Line Manager for PUMA NA
I have 4+ years of experience in the sportswear and fashion industry. As a marketing manager, I started my professional career creating events and promotional activations. I now work as a product line manager, a part of footwear’s overall creation and development process.

ShaQuann Chisholm – Field Sales Representative Nestle USA.
Professionally I’ve worked in the sales end of grocery, having worked for Pepsico and Nestle USA as the field sales representative for the Central Pennsylvania market. What I’m known for and specialized in is curating vibes. I’m most proud of my kids(Mason, Messiah, Madison), sponsoring and coaching our youth baseball team, and the brotherhood that we’ve formed. These guys are my brothers! These are not just my friends.

Any big plans?
Our direct plan for the future is to build brand awareness to a broader market with events throughout the country. We’re looking forward to making more sectors within our focus brand Day Service, i.e., Merch, collaborative events within the entertainment industry, and other curated events. While we have no significant changes in the works, we’re continually fine-tuning our process to make the business run as efficiently as possible.
