Meet Damon Braxton

Today we’d like to introduce you to Damon Braxton.

Hi Damon, thanks for joining us today. We’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
Well, I revived the spark of my passion being a photographer in 2014 being around my brothers Rian & Aaron. I would see the final products of their work and see the happiness they put on people’s faces showing them at their best.

I quickly borrowed their cameras before I received my own in 2018 and went to work. Today I am still creating memories and content for people in my beautiful city of Baltimore. I’m building clientele and just enjoying the art of this journey just like my brothers.

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
Haha, I wish the road was as silky as a button-down dress shirt but it is absolutely not. As an artist of anything, we have big peaks and valleys. A lot of that comes from the perception of your work, your mindset can be your biggest enemy or your best friend. Being a freelance photographer so far to me means more opportunity than money.

Sometimes you wish a client would be able to pay you for an event but that’s not always the case. Being in this field of work and wanting to take this to the next level has made me mature on how to capitalize on those opportunities and transform them into money for myself and my business by giving everything my absolute all.

Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
I specialize in digital photography. I started out in sports photography doing shoots for the youth lacrosse league in Baltimore city. I leaned my way more into portraits and concept work when I just asked people a simple question “can I snap a photo of you ?”

My proudest moment so far in my early career has been selling a print and seeing hanging in a home it was a beautiful thing to see as an artist. Im a very cinematic individual when it comes to my work I want to bring themes, certain vibes through the picture by using my model and location to the best of my ability.

Is there something surprising that you feel even people who know you might not know about?
A lot of people that know me or my work know that im a passionate pro wrestling fan. What they may not know is that my logo for my business is based on the logo of new japan pro wrestling. Just a cool little easter egg.
