Today we’d like to introduce you to Chris Pinilla Mendieta. They and their team shared their story with us below:
Bachata Brunch DC was started over 8 years ago by Chris Bolaños and a few years later Saul Martinez Jr joined him to help the event grow. They worked together for a few years but eventually, Chris Bolaños decided to take a different path and Saul Martinez Jr continued the development of the event and brand “Bachata Brunch DC” where he incorporated Samy and they ran a few successful years.
Unfortunately, Samy also decided to take a different path and the pandemic also hit. This was very hard on Saul Martinez Jr, the event and brand were heavily affected like many other businesses because of the situation. That’s when he reached out to Chris Pinilla better known as Mr. Chris Hypnotyc for some Marketing Advice and help from his company SWM Group. The creativity started flowing, creating some Bachata Brunch Concepts of parties on Zoom and started selling merch from the brand which the people started to support to keep the brand alive. Eventually when some restrictions were lifted and gatherings were permitted outdoors.
Chris Pinilla came up with the idea of BACHATA BRUNCH POP UP, selling tickets for an outdoor secret location where Bachata Brunch will happen but you can only find out and access the event if you bought tickets in advance and it included some merch or cool concept. That was a hit! The brand started to grow once again, about 5 events happened and eventually, restrictions were lifted. That’s when Public Bar Live decided to bring back events and partnered up with Bachata Brunch because of how they saw the results with the pop-ups.
Saul Martinez and Chris Pinilla (Mr. Chris Hypnotyc) decided to turn their best friend relationship into business and partnered up bringing new members to the team such as Cisco (Dancer & MC) Senzala (Videographer & Dancer) Dj Crazy, Dj Danny Dj Alexito and Jlow The Dancer. Together they have been making Bachata Brunch DC happen for the last few years under the Lead of Chris Pinilla (Mr Chris hypnotyc) and Saul Martinez Jr. Our goal is to bring people together through music. We identify thanks to the people as the #1 Social Multicultural Dancing Experience.
We have expanded to Medellin, Colombia, Baltimore, Maryland, and many more places to work.
