Meet Channel Finney of The Confections Channel

Today we’d like to introduce you to Channel Finney.

Hi Channel, so excited to have you on the platform. So before we get into questions about your work-life, maybe you can bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today?
I started my dessert business from a genuine love for baking and creating experiences that bring people together. As a full-time working mom of three, I’ve always had to balance a lot, but baking became both a creative outlet and something I was truly passionate about. What started as making desserts for family, friends, and special occasions gradually grew through word of mouth, repeat customers, and people connecting with the care and quality I put into every item.

Over time, I realized I wanted to build something of my own—something that reflected both creativity and community. Today, my business continues to grow through custom desserts, pop-up events, and partnerships, while I explore new offerings and ways to connect with customers. Every order is personal to me, and I’m proud of how far I’ve come while still building toward an even bigger vision.

I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
It definitely hasn’t been a completely smooth road, One of the biggest struggles has been balancing everything while building a business from the ground up. There have been moments of self-doubt, financial investment, long nights, and learning how to juggle family responsibilities with showing up consistently for my customers.

Another challenge has been learning the business side of things as I grow—pricing, marketing, putting myself out there, and figuring out what works through trial and error. I’ve had moments where things sold out and moments where I questioned what would work best. But those experiences have pushed me to keep improving, trust the process, and stay creative. Seeing repeat customers, growing support, and new opportunities reminds me why I started in the first place.

As you know, we’re big fans of The Confections Channel. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about the brand?
My business is built around creating desserts that feel both memorable and comforting—beautifully crafted treats that not only look good but genuinely taste amazing. I specialize in desserts that bring people together, from rich pudding creations and cheesecake and custom cake to mini cakes and fruit pizzas, all made with attention to flavor, presentation, and quality ingredients. I love creating treats that feel elevated while still giving people that nostalgic, homemade feeling.

What sets my brand apart is the experience and heart behind it. Every dessert is made with intention, creativity, and care. I’m not just selling sweets—I’m creating moments for celebrations, comfort, community, and connection. I pay close attention to presentation, customer experience, and making sure people leave wanting to come back for more. Whether it’s a pop-up event, custom order, or wholesale opportunity, I want customers to feel the love and personality behind the brand.

Brand-wise, I’m most proud of building something authentic while balancing motherhood, full-time work, and entrepreneurship. I’m proud that customers return, recommend my business to others, and trust me to be part of their special moments. I want readers to know that this brand is about more than desserts—it’s about joy, creativity, and creating experiences people remember long after the last bite.

So maybe we end on discussing what matters most to you and why?
What matters most to me is family, authenticity, and building a legacy. My children are my biggest motivation and the reason I push myself to keep growing, even when things feel challenging. I want them to see what hard work, resilience, and following your passion looks like in real time.

Authenticity also matters deeply to me—both personally and in business. I believe people connect with realness, and I want my brand to feel genuine, welcoming, and rooted in care. Whether it’s through the desserts I create or the relationships I build with customers, I want people to feel valued and leave with a positive experience.

At the heart of it all, I’m building something bigger than desserts. I’m building something meaningful—something my family can be proud of, something that brings joy to others, and something that shows it’s possible to pursue your dreams no matter where you start.
