Today we’d like to introduce you to Cee Bee.
Cee, we appreciate you taking the time to share your story with us today. Where does your story begin?
I’ve always been one of those creative Creatives. Where you see an old white T-shirt, I see it as a new pink top, complete with a small graphic and shoulder embellishments. Or, you see a weird print of a cucumber in a frame, I see it as a blank canvas waiting to become a masterpiece.
Writing was always my number one, but painting was a worthy second. When I became an adult and started to build a home, I was having a hard time finding in stores, the things that I saw in my head. So, I had to create them myself and I started painting even more.
One of my favorite projects was an upcycle I did on my grandmother‘s old buffet. It’s now a bold and bright turquoise blue and has made such a cool addition to my living room! After that, people started asking me to help them with their projects and in their homes. From there, it just turned into a business. I’ve expanded to painting accent walls, which I call Wonder Walls, and implemented full service holiday decorating as part of my interior design services.
Whether I find the art or art finds me, we’re pretty much always seeking each other out.
We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
As a visual artist, sometimes the biggest struggle is silencing all the thoughts going through your mind, and just making the time to get them out on paper or on canvas.
I’ve learned to give myself grace and not force myself to do anything. If I don’t feel motivated or inspired, but I work on a project anyway, it likely won’t match what I have in my head and I’ll just erase it and start completely over. I try not to waste time that way.

I’m from Philly, and we consider everything to be a “Jawn”. I also make Art, and my friends call me “Cee”. So, I created Art Jawn Cee, as a sort of hub for all of my creative talents:

I’m most proud when I can show my work in someone’s house or business or on their nails. Aside from that, I’m a single mom of one, the silly big sister, no-nonsense daughter, and overall family manager. What I think surprises people about me is that as creative as I am, I’m super organized and regimented. I think people expect for me to be a Scatterbrains and not know what day of the week it is, but I’m the complete opposite! I’m a business woman. I keep a very tight schedule, can’t go anywhere without wearing a watch and arrange all of my clothes by color from white to black and all the colors in between.
I love helping people see what they can’t – sharing the vision. And for those who have no idea what the vision is, I help them see that too – and we come up with something together. Collaborative art and design is really my most favorite of all.
What quality or characteristic do you feel is most important to your success?
Creativity. I sprinkle it on everything! It’s so frustrating seeing everything look the same. So, I want my work and everything I do, to stand out. A creative mind helps with that.
