Meet Casey Clark of Amplified Change

Today we’d like to introduce you to Casey Clark.

Hi Casey, can you start by introducing yourself? We’d love to learn more about how you got to where you are today?
About 5 years ago, I was sitting at my desk brainstorming ways that I could give back more to my local community and create a legacy. During this process, I began to write some ideas down and the name Amplified Change came as a “download”. I knew that it was to help children with trauma and break generational cycles. I attempted to recruit a board and quickly realized it was not the time, especially with COVID hitting. What I didn’t know that over the next 4-5 years, the right people and experiences would be placed in my path. In 2024, I shared my idea with a colleague, turned friend, and in that conversation, the concept of an alternative school for children with adverse childhood experiences (ACEs) came about. This school will be a private, accredited school located in Frederick, MD, that will use therapeutic arts and have an art therapist on staff to help children through their trauma. It is the first of its kind in the nation and is slated to open in Fall 2027. In the meantime, we offer after-school programs and summer camps for school-aged children with ACE’s and coaching for their parents.

I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
Overall, it has been a smooth road since reintroducing the idea in January 2024. Before that, it simply wasn’t the right time to bring this forward. The struggles primarily come from making sure that I am equipped to care for, mentor and communicate in general with children who have been through so many diverse and traumatic experiences. Taking care of myself fully is a requirement, not an option, so that I show up well for each child.

We’ve been impressed with Amplified Change, but for folks who might not be as familiar, what can you share with them about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
Amplified Change is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit dedicated to empowering children and families who have experienced trauma by using the healing power of art. We specialize in providing after-school programs, summer camps, and (soon) a full-time school that integrates therapeutic arts, and resilience-building into education. Our school will be designed for children with four or more Adverse Childhood Experiences (ACEs), helping them process challenges, build self-esteem, and discover their voice in a safe, supportive environment.

What sets us apart is our unique approach to healing trauma and our holistic approach. We don’t just focus on academics or art alone. We weave creativity, therapy, and community together. Our work is rooted in the belief that healing and learning go hand-in-hand, and that art can be a powerful tool to transform pain into strength.

As a brand, I’m most proud that Amplified Change represents both hope and the possibility to truly change generations. Our logo, our name, and our mission all speak to the idea that when we invest in children, the ripple effects are amplified across communities, and generations.

I want readers to know that Amplified Change is a movement. We are creating a safe, inclusive space where children feel seen, supported, and empowered to thrive despite their upbringing. Whether through painting, performance, storytelling, or simply being in community, our goal is to help kids heal, connect, and grow into confident, resilient adults.

Let’s talk about our city – what do you love? What do you not love?
While I am not from Baltimore, I do frequent it for the food and football. With that being said, I’m not a fan of game day traffic.
