Today we’d like to introduce you to Ashley Rock Wylie.
Hi Ashley, can you start by introducing yourself? We’d love to learn more about how you got to where you are today?
Brandon and his father own a funeral home in West Baltimore City and frequented the florist that was previously in our location for over 30 years. When that florist went up for City Auction they decided it would be a great idea to purchase it so that the business could remain in the community and especially so it wouldn’t become another vacant building. After purchasing, we began renovations and operated from another location until March 2021. We worked throughout the pandemic serving a family who lost loved ones and those wanting to send flowers because they couldn’t celebrate life’s special occasions in person.
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
The extent of the renovations and the time it took was longer than expected and the COVID-19 pandemic resulted in a disruption in our supply chain and operations.
As you know, we’re big fans of Fleurs d’Ave. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about the brand?
Fleurs d’Ave is a floral boutique that provides the highest quality and most unique floral creations for all of life’s special occasions as well as everyday decor. While our designs are unique and high-end, we not only aim to have a luxury brand that attracts corporate accounts and lavish events, we are committed to meeting the floral needs of our community.
We pride ourselves on community involvement and will ensure that our presence will transform our neighborhood through the creation of jobs and provision of resources.
