Meet Aniyah Solomon

Today, we’d like to introduce you to Aniyah Solomon. Aniyah was introduced to us by the brilliant and talented Monika Willis.

Aniyah , thank you so much for joining us today. We’d love for you to bring our readers up to speed – can you introduce yourself and share your story?

Hello all my name is Aniyha Solomon I’m from Severn Maryland and I am a licensed Maryland esthetician. So starting from way back when I’ve always been so fascinated with the beauty industry from the different hairstyles, nail designs and makeup I always knew I wanted to be apart of a industry where we enhance the beauty on the inside and out for both women and men. In 2019 I finally found my place in the industry and that’s as an esthetician which was one of the best decisions I’ve ever made for myself. Being able to be free and let your creativity and knowledge to shine while providing a service where your job is worth more than money especially when your clients are pleased and happy with your work. But of course I did start off like the average working person I’ve had minimum wage paying jobs I have always been such a hard worker where I put so much time and effort to execute my job tasks to be truthfully honest I have never felt like I fit in with that narrative. I didn’t like the idea of me waiting to clock in for a job or having a corporation tell me what to do , when to do it, when I was aloud to do certain things and telling me how much I was worth with the little pay they give you with all the rules that we are told to follow even if it goes against your own morals it was miserable for me especially knowing the talent that I had hidden inside me . So today I am now employed with myself and officially putting in all my time and effort to officially create my brand the way I’ve always imagined with the help from family , god ,mentors, and friends I am able to finally move forward with my new career journey.

Let’s talk about your work and career – what else should we know?

As an esthetician my job is to help people feel confident about their appearances while performing cosmetic treatments such as facials, superficial chemical peels ,microdermabrasion treatments and waxing. One of my main focuses as an esthetician is teaching my clients the best ways to care for their skin based on their skin type. So far in my career I’ve been blessed to be able to team up alongside of Monika Willis as she is a hairstylist we merged our business together as one to build not only both our careers but to change the dynamics of what a salon or spa could truly be so why not bring the two together as one and that’s exactly what we have done. I am excited to finally be able to share my knowledge and thoughts to help provide safe , clean and effective skin treatments for all to experience. Although this is all a new process I have the confidence and guidance that will lead me to success.

So, as we mentioned to our audience earlier, you were introduced to us by Monika Willis and Moments With Mo and we really admire them and what they’ve built. For folks who might not be as familiar, can you tell them a bit about your experience with Moments With Mo.
My experience with Monika has been the greatest blessing in my life that I didn’t know I possibly needed. When I first discovered Monika I was 7 years old and I’ll never forget this moment it was 6am on a Saturday this was my first hair appointment with her and it was for a wedding. Monika was so energized and excited to service not just me but the entire weeding party! This was just only the beginning for such and unexpected relationship. At the age of 13 she opened up an opportunity for me to be her salon assistant and I accepted .During this time she taught me the importance of hair care, professionalism , social skills ,the importance of planning ,how to properly perform techniques to provide hair services and how to create a profitable structure. Being able to work along sides with Monika has had such a impact in my life, watching her at a young age really influence me to want to become an entrepreneur although I am not a hairstylist I still have a background with her from all she has taught me with both of our skills and talents we were able to come together with merging both our business to work in cohesively together. I appreciate Monika so much from how she believes in me and pushes me to always give 100% even on days I just feel like I can’t she’s so encouraging and supportive I think of her as a second mother not just a boss ,friend or mentor she has a heart of pure gold and if she was never apart of my growing process idk where I would be today and with that I am forever grateful and I am honored to say I know her.
