Today we’d like to introduce you to Ahmed Bayoumi.
Hi Ahmed, please kick things off for us with an introduction to yourself and your story.
I first got involved in real estate in 2016 through my father-in-law who had been a real estate investor for over a decade at that time.
He taught me all about real estate investment and property management and I developed a passion for the field. I quickly obtained my real estate license and got right to work!
Collaborating as partners, we created a portfolio of nearly 40 investment properties in the state of Maryland. In 2021, I decided to begin investing on my own.
First, I obtained my Maryland Home Improvement Contractor license. I wanted to be more involved in the construction side of our business so I immersed myself in our rehabs and repair work. Just as the pandemic was ravaging the real estate market and my business was slowing down, I came across an opportunity to purchase a management company called Pioneer Enterprises.
The previous owner had started the business in 2006 and grew it to be one of the most prominent property management companies in the Baltimore area. Ready to retire, he sold the business to me and I have been managing the company since January 2022.
Now, I work to manage my clients’ properties in addition to managing my own portfolio. Our company takes on the responsibility of managing tenants, collecting payments, marketing vacancies, and screening potential renters. We offer services to make real estate investment in Baltimore much easier for our clients!
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall, and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
The road has ups and downs. There have been many months where your business seems to be going nowhere and it is tempting to quit. And then other months you get a windfall and make massive progress.
Overall, staying consistent is key because there will always be ups and downs.
As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about what you do?
I am a property manager and I specialize in maximizing returns for real estate investors.
My team and I work with some of the most successful investors in Baltimore to ensure that their properties produce to their maximum potential. We also work to ensure a quality living environment for our tenants.
We all have a different way of looking at and defining success. How do you define success?
Success is being able to do what you love for a living.
If you love what you do, it never feels like work. I have finally found what I love to do and so getting up for work on Monday morning doesn’t feel like a chore, it’s exciting.
