Hi Vejeees, it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start maybe you can share some of your backstory with our readers?
i was born and raised in west baltimore.
If i had to put a title to it, u can call me a digital artist.
I always had an interest/love for graphics,design,art for as long as i can remember. But it was highschool when i knew i wanted to really enter that world of digital design.
Didn’t act on it until i went to community college and dropped out during the first semester. I had a multimedia class so i had to download Adobe Photoshop to do homework.
From then on i taught myself everything i know about graphic design. Youtube University Alumni.
The rest is history.
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
No,
smooth roads are unrealistic. Even in video games.
Some people come from a family of entrepreneurs.
I don’t. So I learn everything along the way.
You learn the importance of consistency, money management, and customer relations. The more you engage in those practices the better you get at it.
On the clothing side i had to learn about manufacturing,production,etc.
Same with the digital art side. Down to printing and export settings i had to learn everything myself.
That’s the best way in my opinion.
There’s a spiritual component to all of this that is important as well. All of your so called friends will not support you, all of your family will not support you. You have to remain grounded and purposeful so you can keep going in your journey. Belief in self is all you need.
Once you realize the main obstacle that’s in your way is you, the sky starts to open up a lil more.
It’s cliche to say that there’s “beauty in the struggle” but it is. That’s how we ‘learn’ as humans normally, thru pain.

Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your work?
I’m a digital artist that specializes in photo manipulation. Growing up it was a bunch of different art in the house.
It was an art piece in particular that came from the 1983 African world
festival where the graphic was of a face of a man but the face was split in two with a graphic photo manipulative touch added to one half of the face. My first example of photo manipulation and i used to stare at it daily. And it stared at me back.
I’m probably known for doing cover art, idk. I don’t think i’m known at all. But if i was to be known for anything it would be my graphic style and my approach to it. It’s a mixture of minimalism and realism. I can switch it up and do other styles as well.
I’m proud of my clothing line Poorich i’ve created. The message behind the brand was inspired by what i saw growin up in park heights, coupled with an early understanding of these systems in America that are inherently extractive towards us.
What sets me apart from others is an interesting question b/c i feel like my
answer would be biased, obviously. But for the sake of answering, it would be my mindset. Everything starts there.
What were you like growing up?
I was to myself for the most part. i had friends tho.
Didn’t have a big or bright personality i was just regular.
i liked stuff that kids like…video games, cartoons, sports. I loved anime early early on too.
i was a toonami kid. was never big on disney and i was like 50% invested in nickelodeon.
i doodled on all my notebook paper and desks when i could.
