Today we’d like to introduce you to Sarah Alak.
Sarah, we appreciate you taking the time to share your story with us today. Where does your story begin?
It all started with self-care. I’ve always loved getting my lashes done, the peace of lying back, the quiet time to just be, and that feeling when you open your eyes and suddenly see her again…the refreshed, confident version of yourself.
When I moved to the Maryland area, a friend invited me to get my lashes done in Fairfax, VA. I booked a classic set, expecting to feel that same glow I used to, but when I looked in the mirror, I wasn’t blown away. The lashes were sparse, and by the next day, many had already fallen out. When I reached out to the studio, they told me I’d need to pay for another full set. That didn’t sit right with me.
So I decided: I’m going to learn how to do lashes myself.
I took a class, but quickly realized it wasn’t what I expected. The instructor had me watch YouTube videos and left me to figure most of it out on my own. I left feeling disappointed but determined. I knew there had to be more to this craft and I was going to master it.
So I did what I’ve always done: I taught myself. I studied every tutorial I could find, practiced on friends for hours, and poured my heart into getting better. What started as four-hour sets turned into two-hour works of art. And when I saw my friends’ faces light up after each session, I knew I had found something special.
That’s how Asiti Beauty was born.
The name means “from the heart,” and that’s exactly how I lash, with care, intention, and love in every detail.
For many of my clients, their lash appointment is the only time they get to truly rest. They’re moms, business owners, wives, students…women who give so much of themselves to everyone else. I wanted to create a space where they could exhale. Whether we talk, listen to a podcast, or sit in peaceful silence, that time is theirs.
Six years later, I’ve built a brand that’s all about lash health, retention, and peace. My goal is for every client to be able to wear lashes indefinitely without damage, and to feel as beautiful as they truly are. With our UV curing technology and focus on natural lash care, my clients enjoy exceptional retention and lasting results.
Asiti Beauty is growing beyond lashes, too. We now offer ombré brows and lip blush in collaboration with another artist and education is next. I want to teach aspiring lash artists not just how to lash, but how to build a business from the heart.
Because for me, this isn’t just beauty. It’s healing. It’s art. It’s love in detail.
I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
It definitely hasn’t been a smooth road. When I first started, my education wasn’t the best, so a lot of what I know today came from trial, error, and a whole lot of research. I had to learn things the hard way. How glue reacts to temperature and humidity, how different lash types behave, and how to work with each client’s natural lashes to protect their health.
Beyond the artistry, running a business was a whole new education. I quickly realized it’s not just about doing beautiful lashes. It’s about managing inventory, client communication, marketing, and staying consistent on social media so people even know you exist. There are slow seasons, cancellations, and no-shows that can really test your patience and your faith.
But every challenge taught me something valuable. It taught me resilience. It taught me grace. And it reminded me that when something is built from the heart, it will always find its way. Every setback has shaped Asiti Beauty into what it is today, a space built on care, growth, and the quiet confidence that nothing worth having comes easy.
Thanks – so what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
I’m a lash artist and educator who believes beauty should never come at the cost of lash health. At Asiti Beauty, I specialize in creating soft, natural, and long-lasting lash extensions that honor each client’s natural lash line. What truly sets me apart is retention. It’s my superpower.
Many of my clients come to me after frustrating experiences with poor retention, where their lashes barely last a week or two. Through years of research, testing, and refining my technique, I’ve mastered the balance between artistry and science. Understanding how humidity, temperature, adhesive curing, and lash health all work together. I use UV curing technology for longer retention and a safer, more comfortable experience. My clients regularly go weeks with full, beautiful lashes that still feel light and natural.
But beyond technique, what I’m most proud of is the experience I’ve created. My studio isn’t just a place to get lashes…it’s a peaceful space where women can rest, recharge, and feel seen. Whether they’re moms, entrepreneurs, or professionals, this is often the only time they get to truly slow down. Every set I create is customized, every appointment handled with care.
At the heart of my work is a simple belief: when you care for people first, the beauty follows.
Is there a quality that you most attribute to your success?
The quality that’s been most important to my success is care. Genuine, heart-led care for both people and the craft. Every lash I place and every interaction I have with a client comes from a place of intention. I don’t just want their lashes to look beautiful; I want them to feel beautiful, rested, and cared for.
That level of care has kept me consistent even when things got hard. It pushes me to keep learning, to refine my technique, and to hold myself to a higher standard. My clients can feel when something is done with love versus done for money, and that’s why they trust me.
I believe when your work comes from the heart, it shows. That’s what keeps people coming back, and that’s what has built Asiti Beauty into more than a lash brand, it’s become a space where beauty meets peace.
