Today we’d like to introduce you to Rita Carr

Hi Rita, can you start by introducing yourself? We’d love to learn more about how you got to where you are today?
Hello my name is Rita Carr and I found my passion for nails in 2021. With Covid rising and evreything shutting down I needed to find something to do while being at home.I have a very creative artistic side and I wouldn’t combine that with something I love to do and that was getting my nails done. At first creating nail sets was just hobby and then surely became something to do,my calling . Mid 2021 I began to showcase my nails to gain clientele a lot of people were suprised by that sets I was creating from cartoons, movie themes as well as sets based on well known designers.I began to gain clientele and realized I needed to take my passion a step further and I started my actual own business In January of 2022 Naomi Nails I dedicated the name Naomi Nails to my Grandmother Jean Naomi Dixon who recently had passed away she meant so much to me and I wanted to keep her name and legacy going. Unfortunately my life took a downward spiral and I had to put my passion on pause to get my life back in order I lost my home and my car and with 3 children to provide for I still had to make a way through. Even with my life going downhill I would find time to do what I love when I could through so much going on in my life doing a nail set would bring me peace back to my happy place.. In November 2023 I decided to make a decision that I wanted better for me and my children and after being in Indianapolis for almost 11 years I decided to relocate to Severn Maryland . Not to long after relocating I begin to get back on my feet things begin getting back on track and I felt comfortable with doing nails again.

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
Some obstacles and h can challenged are staying focused ons completing a set my sets with art work can take up too 2 days because of all the detail and sometimes it can be overwhelming.

Thanks – so what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
I create artistic press on nails I believe my sets set me apart because they’re not your average plain set. I can bring any idea to life with my sets..

Is there something surprising that you feel even people who know you might not know about?
Something most people wouldn’t know about me is I’ve been drawing since I was a child that i something I’ve always loved to do .
