Today we’d like to introduce you to Ms. Brooke Parker Higgins.
Ms. Brooke, we appreciate you taking the time to share your story with us today. Where does your story begin?
I was born in Baltimore, MD and I grew up with my parents in Towson, MD until I was almost 10 years old. Both of my parents were actively involved in the Baltimore and Towson community. My Mother graduated from Goucher College with her bachelor’s degree and from Loyola and University of Maryland for her two master’s degree. My Dad Craig S. Higgins was one of the two Co-Founders of The Neonatal Intensive (NICU) @ Johns Hopkins Children Center. I have amazing memories and a huge love and fondness for Baltimore. Growing up there was a very special area and happy time in my life. This Baltimore baby is still an Orioles and Ravens fan!
Currently in live in Los Angeles. I am a published author and photographer who after experiencing with publishing my first book, I wanted to continue my journey as a professional writer. So, I founded Ladies’ Life Guide in 2018. My platform began with premiering the LLG BLOG by sharing my LIFE experiences through writing my life lesson articles and highlighting positive LLG quotes. My goal was to pay it forward, to help other women find their own voices and true worth. The mission statement of Ladies’ Life Guide is to remind women of all ages, that your dreams and accomplishments are limitless. Then the LLG platform expanded to a BOUTIQUE, featuring the articles positive quotes, inspirational affirmations and mottos in merchandise. The LLG line has over 1,500 items on 30 different types of items I designed on fantastic quality items made in the USA, that are extremely affordable. Which includes unisex apparel items for the entire family including babies, toddlers, preteens and men. Head to toe, activewear for women including sports bras, tank tops, t-shirts, cropped hoodies, fleece sweatshirts, long yoga/workout pants, sweatpants, also including TRANSFORMATION yoga capri pants — sizes 2 to 14 available – that was chosen and featured in the iconic Harper’s Bazaar Magazine, 2021 December/January 2022 Art Issue. See the feature in the LLG PRESS section!
The line also includes beach and vacation items of flip flops, bathing suits and beach bags and towels, seasonal hats. Also, unisex Covid masks that transform into other needs, Socks, 3 different types of tote bags, unisex laptop cases, backpacks, duffel bags, and personal journals. Also includes kitchen items of unisex aprons, 4 different sizes of coffee mugs. Also, home goods items of blankets, pillows and hanging framed picture, featuring an LLG empowering quote. There is literally something for everyone, including year-round holidays, special occasion and seasonal themed items that make thoughtful and fun gifts!
The next section of LLG platform is the upcoming LLG Podcast, which is currently in pre-production. I am currently looking for a nationwide outlet (i.e., Sirius XM, IHeart Radio, etc.) to work with me to broadcast weekly interviews with me interviewing other women (and men) from all different types of backgrounds and professional jobs. By sharing everyone’s experiences and discussing universal life advice (both professional and personal) to help inspire other women (and men) listening to navigate their own life, especially during one’s difficult times. It will be a platform for those interviewed to help them promote what they are working on or have accomplished, to share with the large audience. These full interviews will also be featured on the website and on LLG’s YOUTUBE CHANNEL.
My other goal is to also one day publish book(s) with a major publishing company, featuring LLG’s life advice. Until then, I would appreciate you, the readers supporting Ladies’ Life Guide online community, by following all social media outlets. Please go to the www.ladieslifeguide.com and follow and like on Instagram, TikTok, Facebook, YouTube, Pinterest, Twitter, and LinkedIn. You can also SUBSCRIBE to the LLG, where you will receive emails with new articles, press news and updates on new LLG merchandise added to the line.
Your support would be most appreciated, and I would love it, if you could help me by also paying it forward by sharing the website link to your friends, family and co-workers, to READ the Blog, SHOP the Boutique, FOLLOW daily online and to LISTEN to the upcoming podcast. If someone reading this is interested in being a Podcast guest to promote something they are proud of, please email me directly at brooke@ladieslifeguide.com
I am so proud of my platform that I’ve worked on for almost 4 years and creating my company has been a labor of love.
We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
No, it hasn’t been a smooth road. The struggles have been getting my company seen nationwide by authentic social media followers. In the age of all thing’s social media, most platforms are supported by strangers, if someone is famous or a celebrity. Despite that, the feedback I have received has all been so supporting and all positive. I love hearing from someone who feels my articles or a quote on a social media post has helped them. It’s an amazing feeling to have received photos from customers using or wearing an item I designed that they purchased in the LLG Boutique.
I love reading all the awesome GOOGLE reviews about the LLG merchandise items. My thousands of hours of solo work are so worth it, from seeing my customers inspired, happy and satisfied. Even though I am not a famous celebrity, I know in my heart that my company and this platform is going to grow. I have faith in myself, my work and excited for the future. As one cool motto that is featured on all the LLG’s merchandise, “JUST KEEP GOING……”
Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?
I have an eclectic background as an artist. I have worked in the industry in L.A. as an SAG-AFTRA Actress and a Voice-Over Artist. I am proud I am a published Author and Photographer. But out of all of the artistic outlets I have worked on and accomplished, I am most proud of being the CEO, Founder and Designer of my company Ladies’ Life Guide. Becoming an Entrepreneur had been incredibly rewarding and empowering.
What sets me apart from others is that it’s not just one specific area of creativity that I have experienced. All the areas I have worked in professionally, as an actress, voice-over, writer, photographer, designer and entrepreneur – all those experiences, both the positive and negative have made me grow and become a better artist and an even better person. I am so looking forward to all of the unlimited positive opportunities for my future.
The crisis has affected us all in different ways. How has it affected you and any important lessons or epiphanies you can share with us?
Yes, 100%.
My preparation paid off.
Focus on what I can control.
Utilize time properly.
Don’t waste time with unnecessary drama.
Don’t sweat the small stuff.
Your mental and physical health is the number one priority in one’s life.
That I am much stronger than I have given myself credit for. If I can survive a worldwide pandemic, I can do and survive anything.
I need to be gentler with myself, I’m doing my best.
Life is so precious, and each day is a gift.
Family, friends and loved ones are everything.

I naturally have a strong bias, being her Dad, but couldn’t be prouder. She’s worked really hard and long on LLG and I appreciate your featuring her and giving her an addition boost for her dreams.
Brooke has a big heart and a caring soul. I know her encouragement to other women will be a voice that is heard.

Great article on Women owned businesses but especially on Brooke who I had the privilege of getting to know back in college . It’s nice to see all of her hard work finally getting some recognition.
