Today we’d like to introduce you to Melanie Brown-Lane.
Hi Melanie, we’re thrilled to have a chance to learn your story today. So, before we get into specifics, maybe you can briefly walk us through how you got to where you are today?
Chauncey’s began in 2014 as a premade, microwave-ready, gourmet meal delivery service. After about six months of success, Chef Chauncey wanted to expand the growing company’s services. In an attempt to showcase a more flamboyant, whimsical, and creative food experience, Chauncey’s began offering catering, chef instruction, in-home private dining, and chef consulting.
In 2019, Chauncey’s debuted our signature spice blend line with three official blends. We have currently expanded and have six bold and flavorful blends.
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
It has not been a smooth road, but each day is a learning experience. Some of the obstacles/challenges have been: Funding, staffing, marketing.
Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
I am Chef & Owner of Chauncey’s. I curate menus/food experiences per client/event specifications. I prepare, cook, and serve culinary works of art for the flavor adventurers. I am most proud of owning a successful bios ideas that I started from the ground up and have seen grow based on the support of my clients and quality of the product and service we provide. I am also most proud of having been a featured chef on Chopped (Season 32, Episode1).
What sets me apart from others is my commitment to quality and integrity, at Chauncey’s we never cut corners. Also, my colorful, whimsical, creative personality and lifestyle assure clients that what they receive from Chauncey’s is one of a kind!
Where do you see things going in the next 5-10 years?
I see my industry shifting its focus to be more in line with carry out/in-home dining experiences. Restaurant and catering business aren’t going anywhere but COVID really helped highlight the other dining options available that people wouldn’t usually consider.
